Fernando Ariel Batista (born 20 August 1970) is an Argentine football manager and retired player who is currently the manager of the Venezuela national team.
Batista started his playing career with Argentine top flight side Argentinos Juniors, where he made 134 league appearances and scored 4 goals. [1] In 1997, Batista signed for Godoy Cruz in the Argentine second division. [1]
He represented Argentina U20 at the 1989 FIFA World Youth Championship. [2]
In 2018, Batista was appointed manager of Armenia U19. [3] After that, he was appointed manager of Argentina U20. [4] In 2019, he was appointed manager of Argentina U23. [4]
In March 2023, Batista was announced the new appointed manager for the Venezuela national team, after the departure of José Pékerman.

The Argentina national football team represents Argentina in men's international football and is administered by the Argentine Football Association, the governing body for football in Argentina.
The Venezuela national football team represents Venezuela in men's international football and is controlled by the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF), the governing body for football in Venezuela. They are nicknamed La Vinotinto. When playing at home in official games, they usually rotate between three stadiums: The Polideportivo Cachamay in Puerto Ordaz, the Estadio José Antonio Anzoátegui in Puerto La Cruz and the Estadio Pueblo Nuevo in San Cristóbal. In friendly matches, they tend to rotate between the rest of the stadiums in the country.

As a youth level coach for Argentina, he won the FIFA World Youth Championship three times, and the U20 South American Youth Championship twice. He coached the Argentina national football team in the 2006 FIFA World Cup and became coach of the Colombia national team in 2012.
