History

The platform was launced in March 2008 by Mynul Khan. Within 2 years Field Nation broke even and by 2014 posted more than 60 million in revenue. [3] [4] [5]

Field Nation acquired Field Solutions in May 2015. [5] [6]

In September 2015, Field Nation raised 30 million dollars in venture capital, led by Susquehanna Growth Equity, a subsidiary of Susquehanna International Group. [7] [8]

Software

Field Nation matches contract IT and other freelancers with corporate clients through an online marketplace made up of 100,000 service providers. [2] Businesses use Field Nation's software to manage independent contractors, existing employees, or both.

The Field Nation mobile app provides real-time work order tracking, ability to negotiate counteroffers, access to payment history, signature capture, and uploading of documents. [9]

Recognition

Field Nation has ranked two years in a row in the Inc. 500, a list of the fastest growing companies in America. They were ranked 43rd in the United States in 2013 and 445th in 2014. They were ranked 4th fastest growing company in Minnesota in 2014. [10]

Field Nation was recognized by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal as one of 2013's Fast 50 companies. Field Nation was ranked Minnesota's 2nd fastest growing private company. [11]

CEO Mynul Khan was named 1 of 10 Minnesota business leaders to watch in 2015 by the Star Tribune. [12]

Field Nation received the 2015 Tekne award for IT services awarded by the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA). [13]

The Star Tribune is the largest newspaper in Minnesota. It originated as the Minneapolis Tribune in 1867 and the competing Minneapolis Daily Star in 1920. During the 1930s and 1940s, the two newspapers were consolidated, with the Tribune published in the morning and the Star in the evening. They merged in 1982, creating the Star and Tribune, which was renamed the Star Tribune in 1987. After a tumultuous period in which the newspaper was sold and re-sold and filed for bankruptcy protection in 2009, it was purchased by local businessman Glen Taylor in 2014.

Carl Ray Pohlad was an American financier from Minnesota. Pohlad is best known as the owner of the Minnesota Twins baseball franchise from 1984 until his death in 2009.

Dayton's was an American department store chain founded in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1902 by George Draper Dayton. It operated several local high end department stores throughout Minnesota and the Upper Midwest for almost 100 years. Although it was regionally known as a high-quality shopping destination, Dayton's is best remembered for starting the discount shopping chain Target. Paul Thissen is an American politician, attorney, and jurist serving as an associate justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court. He previously served as the Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives and DFL Minority Leader. Thissen was the longest-serving leader of the Minnesota House Democrats since Martin Olav Sabo in the 1970s. A member of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL), he represented District 61B in south Minneapolis. First elected in 2002, Thissen was reelected every two years through 2016. On April 17, 2018, Governor Mark Dayton appointed Thissen to the Minnesota Supreme Court. He was sworn in on May 14, 2018. He is the first person to have served both as Minnesota House Speaker and on the Minnesota Supreme Court.
