FilmTecknarna is a Swedish animation studio formed by Jonas Odell, [1] Lars Ohlson, Stig Bergkvist, and Martti Ekstrand in 1981.
The studio started out producing their own independent films before moving into commercials and music videos. The studio has become known for an eclectic blend of animation and live action. FilmTecknarna today consists of three companies: FilmTecknarna Stockholm (focused on the production of TV-commercials and music videos), FilmTecknarna Inc. (based in New York City and focused on producing commercials, broadcast graphics, and music videos for the U.S. market), and finally, FilmTecknarna Fiction, that devotes itself to the development and production of long-format productions, such as TV-series, short films and feature films. The commercial division today represents thirteen directors working in a variety of styles and techniques. They are: Jonas Odell, Stig Bergqvist, Jonas Dahlbeck, Jessica Laurén, Johanna Andersson, Boris Nawratil, David Nord, Jory Hull, Lucas Zanotti, Jasmin Jodry, and a new director soon to be made public. The founders, Jonas Odell, Lars Ohlson, and Stig Bergqvist, were students in Stockholm who joined together to make small super 8 films in the 1970s.

Kent was a Swedish alternative rock band formed in Eskilstuna in 1990. With members Joakim Berg, Martin Sköld, Sami Sirviö and Markus Mustonen, the band had numerous radio hits throughout Sweden and Scandinavia and consecutive number-one studio albums on the Sweden top list (Sverigetopplistan) beginning with the release of Verkligen (1996) and led by the single "Kräm ". With origins rooted in distorted rock, they found mainstream success through their alternative rock albums of the mid-1990s, 2000s and 2010s, the latter decades during which they adopted elements of synthpop.

It won Sweden's most prestigious film prize, the Guldbagge, when it was released in 1980 and was Sweden's official selection for the 54th Academy Awards. The film became controversial in Australia, being banned in 2014, over thirty years after its original release.

Jonas Odell is a Swedish music video and film director and founder of FilmTecknarna. Odell, who specializes in a mix of animation and live action, has directed a number of short films, music videos and commercials. His short film Never Like the First Time! was awarded the Golden Bear for best short film in the Berlin International Film Festival 2006. He has won two Swedish Guldbagge Awards for Best Short Film, for Never Like the First Time! (2006) and Lies (Lögner) (2008). Lies also received the Jury Prize for International Short Filmmaking at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.

Järrel was one of the most popular actors in Sweden during his career, and also one of the most productive, participating in a total of 131 films. He also performed as an actor at various Swedish theatres and was a frequent guest on radio and television.
