FinBank Burundi, also known as Finbank, is a commercial bank in Burundi, licensed by the Bank of the Republic of Burundi, the central bank and national banking regulator. [2] The bank, established in 2002, was between 2008 and 2014 a subsidiary and a component of the Access Bank Group. [3]

Location

The headquarters of the bank are located at 16 Boulevard de la Liberté, in Bujumbura, the largest city and former capital of Burundi. Overview

FinBank incorporated as a leasing finance company, under the name Finalease, in 2000. Two years later, it was granted a commercial banking license. It began commercial banking activities in 2003, changing its name to FinBank. In 2008, the Access Bank Group acquired majority shareholding in FinBank Burundi. In early 2014, Access Bank plc divested its interest in the bank to Dillux S.A, an investment company incorporated in Mauritius. [3] [4]

Kira Hospital is a private hospital located in Bujumbura, Burundi. The hospital was funded by Swiss investors, a local insurance company and local individuals, and opened in 2015 to provide specialist services that had not been available in Burundi. In 2022 the hospital was taken over by a group associated with the government, and services repidly declined. Aid from the primary European donor was cut off in May 2024 due to concerns over potentially illegal activity.

The Muha River is a river in Burundi that flows through the south of Bujumbura. There are many problems with flooding and erosion, aggravated by extraction of sand and gravel from the river for use in construction.

Vénérand Kazohera is a Burundian businessman. He was a prominent supporter of the ruling CNDD-FDD party under president Pierre Nkurunziza (2005–2020), and remained active under president Evariste Ndayishimiye.
