Finn Aamodt

Finn Roger Aamodt (born 7 January 1952) is a Norwegian sports coach.

He grew up in Gamlebyen, Oslo. He started his working career and married in the mid-1960s. In 1971 they had the son Kjetil André Aamodt and had settled at Lambertseter. [1]

Aamodt trained his own children as alpine skiers and gradually became known nationwide for his substantial training regimes, as Kjetil André Aamodt entered the national recruit team in the late 1980s. [1] In the 1990s and 2000s, Kjetil André Aamodt became one of the most successful alpine skiers in history, and Finn Aamodt was the head coach for the Norwegian alpine skiing team. From 1995 he was employed by Olympiatoppen. [2]

From 2004 to 2006, Finn Aamodt was the director of sports in the Norwegian Skating Association, before returning to Olympiatoppen as head coach of technical and tactical sports. He was also involved in summer sports, among others in the team of Andreas Thorkildsen. Finn Aamodt was also a television sports commentator. [2]

Alpine skiing at the 1994 Winter Olympics consisted of ten alpine skiing events, held north of the host city of Lillehammer, Norway. The speed events were held at Kvitfjell and the technical events at Hafjell from 13 to 21 February.

The men's combined was held on Tuesday, 14 February, two days after the downhill. The combined competition, as the name suggests, is a combination where the times in the downhill racing and the slalom events are added. One run of downhill and two runs of slalom are used to determine overall ranking in the combined event. All three runs were held in a single day.

The Men's Super-G competition of the Torino 2006 Olympics was held at Sestriere, Italy, on Saturday, February 18.

With his victory in the downhill in 2013, Svindal became the first male alpine racer to win titles in four consecutive world championships.

Mexico sent a delegation to compete at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway from 12–27 February 1994. This was the fifth time Mexico had competed in the Winter Olympic Games. The Mexican delegation consisted of one alpine skier, Hubertus von Hohenlohe. He was entered into one event, the men's downhill, in which he finished in 48th place.

His best performance in any event was fourth in the Super-G; he also finished fifth in the downhill and ninth in the combined. As well, he failed to finish the giant slalom, and was disqualified from the slalom.
