Flash & Snowball is a 2005 album by Aja West and Cheeba. They are the founders of the Mackrosoft Records music label. Aja West is the leader and conductor of the funk group The Mackrosoft, and Cheeba is the leader of The Cheebacabra. Each brother plays in the other's band.

Overview

The album was written in tribute to the two cats the artists grew up with, one of which was deaf but enjoyed "listening" to music. [1] Flash & Snowball won Best Jam Album at the 2006 Independent Music Awards. [2]

Poi Dog Pondering

Poi Dog Pondering is an American musical group, noted for its cross-pollination of diverse musical genres, including various forms of acoustic and electronic music. Founded in Hawaii in 1984 by Frank Orrall, initially as a solo project. In 1985 Orrall formed the first line-up of PDP to perform its first concert; at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. The band then embarked on a yearlong Street Performance Busking tour across North America, eventually settling in Austin, Texas in 1987, where they recorded their first three albums. In 1992, the band relocated, this time to Chicago, Illinois, where they began to incorporate Orchestral arrangements and elements of Electronic, House Music and Soul music into their Acoustic Rock style. The membership of Poi Dog Pondering has evolved from album to album, with Frank Orrall being the constant since the inception.

New Earth Mud is the solo debut studio album of Chris Robinson. It was released October 22, 2002 on Redline Records. Initial pressings came with a bonus DVD, which included a documentary on the making of the album and several acoustic live performances. The album was Robinson's first solo effort after a dozen years recording and touring with the band he formed with his brother Rich Robinson during the 1980s, the Black Crowes, which had gone on hiatus after the completion of its 2001 tour in support of the album Lions.
