Janet Kataaha Museveni is a Ugandan politician who has been the First Lady of Uganda since 1986. She is married to President Yoweri Museveni, with whom she has four children. She has been Cabinet Minister of Education and Sports in the Ugandan Cabinet, since 6 June 2016. She previously served as Minister for Karamoja Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda from 27 May 2011 until 6 June 2016. She is also served as the elected Member of Parliament representing Ruhaama County in Ntungamo District, between 2011 and 2016. She published her autobiography, My Life's Journey, in 2011.
Syda Namirembe Bbumba is a Ugandan accountant, politician and banker. She served in the Cabinet of Uganda as Minister of Energy and Minerals from 2002 to 2006, Minister of Gender, Labor and Social Development from 2006 to 2008, Minister of Finance from 2009 to 2011, and Minister of Gender, Labor and Social Development again from 2011 to 2012. She is also the elected Member of Parliament for Nakaseke County North, Nakaseke District She is the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on National Economy and also Chairperson of the Parliamentary Islamic Banking Forum. She is Sub-Saharan Africa's representative to the OIC Women Advisory Panel.
Janat Balunzi Mukwaya is a politician and former captain in the military of Uganda. She is the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. She previously served as the Minister for General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister from 16 February 2009 until 27 May 2011. Before that, she served as Minister of Trade and Industry from June 2006 until February 2009. In May 2011, she temporarily retired from politics and was replaced in the cabinet by Kiddu Makubuya. She also served as the elected member of Parliament for Mukono South Constituency, Mukono District, from 2006 until her retirement in 2011.
Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu is a Ugandan politician, the current Chief Government Whip in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing Justine Lumumba Kasule, who was given the post of Secretary General of the ruling National Resistance Movement political party in Uganda on 23 December 2014. Prior to that, from 27 May 2011 until 1 March 2015, Nankabirwa served as the State Minister for Fisheries in the Cabinet of Uganda replacing Fred Mukisa, who was dropped from the cabinet. Prior to that, she served as State Minister for Microfinance, from 16 February 2009 until 27 May 2011. She also concurrently serves as the elected member of parliament, representing the Kiboga District Women's Constituency.
Simon Lokodo is a Ugandan politician who has served as Minister of State for Ethics & Integrity in the Office of the President of Uganda since 2011. Previously he was the Minister of State for Industry from 2009 to 2011. He has also been the elected Member of Parliament representing Dodoth County, Kaabong District since 2006.
Jenipher Kacha Namuyangu, also Jennifer Namuyangu Byakatonda, but commonly referred to as Jennifer Namuyangu, is a Ugandan politician and environmentalist. She is the Minister of State for Local Government in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. She previously served as the Minister of State for Water Resources, from 1 June 2006 until 27 May 2011. In the Cabinet reshuffle on 27 May 2011, she was dropped from the cabinet and was replaced by Betty Bigombe. She also served as the elected Member of Parliament for Pallisa District Women's Representative, from 2001 until 2011. In 2010, Pallisa District was split into two, to create Kibuku District. Namuyangu contested for the parliamentary seat of "Kibuku County", Kibuku District. She lost to Saleh Kamba by a wide margin.
Jessica Eriyo, sometimes spelled Jesca Eriyo, is a Ugandan educator, social worker, politician and diplomat. Currently, she serves as the Deputy Secretary General of the East African Community, (EAC), responsible for Productive & Social Sectors. She was appointed to that position on 30 April 2012. She served a three-year term, renewable once. She replaced Beatrice Kiraso, another Ugandan, who served in that position between April 2006 and April 2012.
Fredrick Ruhindi, more commonly known as Freddie Ruhindi or Fred Ruhindi, is a Ugandan lawyer and politician. He was Attorney General of Uganda from 1 March 2015 to 2016. Between 2 June 2006 and 28 February 2015, he served as the State Minister for Justice & Constitutional Affairs in the Ugandan Cabinet. He has served in that capacity since 2006. In the cabinet reshuffle of 16 February 2009, and that of 27 May 2011, he retained his cabinet post. He is also the elected Member of Parliament representing Nakawa Division in Kampala District.
George William Thembo Nyombi is a Ugandan economist and politician. He is a former State Minister for Information Technology in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 27 May 2011. He replaced Alintuma Nsambu, who was dropped from the Cabinet. Prior to that, he served as the State Minister for Luweero Triangle in the Office of the Prime Minister, from 2009 until 2011. Nyombi Thembo is also a former Member of Parliament (MP), for "Kassanda County South", Mubende District. He has continuously represented the constituency since 2001.
Lukia Isanga Nakadama, sometimes written Rukia Isanga Nakadama, is a Ugandan businesswoman, educator and politician. She is the current State Minister for Gender and Culture in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position in 2006. In the cabinet reshuffle of 16 February 2009, and that of 27 May 2011, she retained this cabinet post. She is also the elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Mayuge District Women's Representative. She has been continuously re-elected to that position since 2001.
Rukiya Kulany Chekamondo, sometimes spelled as Rukia Kulany Chekamondo, is a Ugandan educator and politician. She was the State Minister for Privatization in the Ministry of Finance, from June 2006 until May 2011. In the cabinet reshuffle of 27 May 2011, she was dropped from the cabinet and replaced by Aston Kajara. She also served as the elected Member of Parliament (MP), for Kapchorwa District Women's Representative, from 2006 until 2011. During the 2011 national elections, she was defeated by the current incumbent MP, Phyllis Chemutai, an Independent politician.
Mary Busingye Karooro Okurut, more commonly known as Mary Karooro Okurut, is a Ugandan educator, author and politician. She is the current Cabinet Minister in Charge of General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister, in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. Prior to that, from 1 March 2015 until 6 June 2016, she served as Cabinet Minister for National Security. She was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing Wilson Muruli Mukasa, who was appointed Minister of Gender and Social Issues. Between 2012 and 2015, she served as the Minister of Gender and Social Issues in the Cabinet of Uganda. She was appointed to that position in 2012. She replaced Syda Bumba, who resigned from Cabinet. Mary Karoro Okurut also serves as the elected Member of Parliament for Bushenyi District Women's Constituency.
Maria Kiwanuka is a Ugandan economist, businesswoman and politician who served as Minister of Finance in the Cabinet of Uganda from 27 May 2011 to 1 March 2015. Since 2015 she has been Senior Advisor to the President of Uganda on financial matters, responsible for the Bretton Woods Institutions.
Irene Nafuna Muloni is a Ugandan electrical engineer, businesswoman and politician. She is the Cabinet Minister for Energy and Minerals in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was first appointed to that position on 27 May 2011. In the new cabinet list released after the 2016 national elections, she maintained her position. She served as the elected Member of Parliament for Bulambuli District Women's Representative, from 2011 until 2016. In 2016, she lost her seat to Sarah Nambozo Wekomba, an Independent.
Amelia Anne Kyambadde is a Ugandan politician. She is the current Cabinet Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. She has previously served as Cabinet Minister of Trade and Industry between 27 May 2011 and 6 June 2016. She replaced Kahinda Otafiire, who was appointed Minister for Justice. Amelia Kyambadde is also the elected Member of Parliament (MP) for "Mawokota County North" in Mpigi District.
Agnes Akiror Egunyu, more commonly known as Agnes Akiror, is a Ugandan politician. She is the current State Minister for Teso Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. Prior to that, from 27 May 2011 until 6 June 2016, she served as Minister of State for Tourism. She replaced Serapio Rukundo, who was dropped from the cabinet. In the cabinet reshuffle of 1 March 2015, she retained her cabinet post. On account of being a cabinet minister, she is an ex-officio Member of Parliament.
Rebecca Amuge Otengo is a Ugandan politician. She is the current State Minister for Northern Uganda in the Cabinet of Uganda. She was appointed to that position on 27 May 2011. Rebecca Amuge is an elected Member of Parliament as Alebtong District Women's Representative.
Sarah Achieng Opendi, sometimes Sarah Opendi Achieng, is a Ugandan accountant and politician. She is the State Minister of Health for General Duties in the Ugandan cabinet, since 6 June 2016. Prior to that, from 15 August 2012 until 6 June 2016, she served as the Minister of State for Primary Healthcare. Prior to that, from 27 May 2011 until 15 August 2012, she served as the State Minister for Lands. In the cabinet reshuffle of 1 March 2015, she retained her cabinet post.
Caroline Amali Okao is a Ugandan politician. She is the state minister for microfinance in the cabinet of Uganda. She was appointed to that position on 27 May 2011. She replaced Ruth Nankabirwa. Okao is also the elected member of parliament for Amolatar District Women's Representative.
Mariam Najjemba Mbabaali, formerly known as Rosemary Najjemba Muyinda is a Ugandan politician. She served as the State Minister for Urban Planning in the Ugandan Cabinet from 15 August 2012, until 6 June 2016, when she was dropped from cabinet. In the cabinet, she replaced Justine Lumumba Kasule, who was appointed Government Chief Whip. Najjemba served as the elected Member of Parliament for Gomba County, Gomba District on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) political party ticket, for two consecutive terms, from 2006 until 2016.
