The Flight Attendants' Association of Australia (FAAA) is a trade union in Australia. It is divided into two separate entities:

The FAAA is affiliated with the Australian Council of Trade Unions.

2016 Election

The FAAA – international division is the largest international flight attendant union in Australia comprising international flight attendants from Qantas and Virgin Australia.

The current team in the International Division of the FAAA are led by legal professional and long term flight attendant Teri O'toole. Her executive team comprises Lou Nesci, David Horsfall, Miranda Diack and Bruce Roberts. This team swept to victory in a landslide election win against outgoing secretary Michael Mijatov and officials after a hard-fought 2016 election campaign. The election saw a record 80% member vote return with nearly 70% of votes going to Teri and her Reclaim Your FAAA group.

Since 2004, AFA has been part of the Communications Workers of America (CWA), an affiliate of AFL–CIO. AFA is also an affiliate of the International Transport Workers' Federation.

The Professional Flight Attendants Association (PFAA) was an independent union which represented the approximately 10,000 flight attendants employed by Northwest Airlines in North America. PFAA had been the bargaining agent for Northwest flight attendants from June 2003, when its members voted to end their 26-year association with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, until the membership voted to be represented by the Association of Flight Attendants in July 2006.

It represented New Zealand-based flight attendants at Air New Zealand International including Flight Service Managers. Also represented are flight attendants and cabin managers from Air New Zealand Domestic Jet, Air Nelson, Jetconnect (Qantas) Long Haul & Short Haul, Virgin Australia and Jetstar. It was based in Auckland.

The Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) is a labor union which was founded in 1977 and represents over 28,000 flight attendants at American Airlines. In 2003, APFA played a major role in keeping American Airlines solvent and out of bankruptcy by giving back an employee bailout of $340 million in annual salary and benefits, for a total of over $3 billion. APFA had been in negotiations with American for almost four years when the carrier filed for chapter 11-bankruptcy protection on November 29, 2011.

General elections were held in the Solomon Islands on 5 April 2006. No party won more than four of the fifty seats, while thirty seats went to independent candidates. A number of those subsequently formed an Association of Independent Members of Parliament, with Snyder Rini as their leader. Rini was elected prime minister by Parliament on 18 April, amidst "widespread street protests" in Honiara, which caused particular damage in the city's Chinatown. Rioters "alleged corruption and insisted that Mr. Rini had been unfairly favouring Chinese businessmen". While the riots ceased with the arrival of Australian and New Zealand peacekeeping troops the next day, the opposition soon lodged a motion of no confidence in Rini's premiership. Rini resigned on 26 April, having been Prime Minister for just eight days. Opposition parties united in a coalition and succeeded in having Manasseh Sogavare, of the Solomon Islands Social Credit Party, elected Prime Minister on 4 May.
