Dharamdev Pishorimal Anand, better known as Dev Anand, was an Indian film actor, writer, director and producer known for his work in Hindi cinema, through a career that spanned over six decades. He was one of the most successful actors in the Indian film industry.

Soldier is a 1998 Indian Hindi-language thriller film directed by Abbas–Mustan starring Bobby Deol, Preity Zinta and Rakhee Gulzar. The film was released in 1998 and was declared as a 'BlockBuster' by Box Office India, becoming the 2nd highest grossing film of the year in India. Although Soldier was Preity Zinta's first film, Mani Ratnam's Dil Se.. ended up being released before Soldier and was thus Zinta's film debut. The soldier was the first movie in Abbas-Mustan career, which was not a Hollywood remake or adaptation. According to film writer Shyam Goel, it was inspired by a real incident that happened in Punjab where a woman's forehead was branded with the message that her husband was a traitor. Her husband, a soldier, was accused of treachery, and she was thrown out of her village. The story was already made as a movie in Tamil in 1989 titled Thaai Naadu, starring Sathyaraj in dual roles. Then this film was remade in Dhallywood as Jamin Nai by Syed Harun starring Shabnur, Shakti Kapoor & Mizu Ahmed in lead roles in 2000 and Tamil as Villu By Prabhu Deva starring Vijay & Nayanthara in lead roles in 2009.

C.I.D. is a 1956 Indian crime thriller film directed by Raj Khosla and produced by Guru Dutt. It stars Dev Anand, Shakila, Johnny Walker, K. N. Singh and Waheeda Rehman. The film has Dev Anand playing a police inspector investigating a murder case. The music was given by O. P. Nayyar and the lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri and Jan Nisar Akhtar. It was Waheeda Rehman's screen debut, and future directors Pramod Chakravorty and Bhappi Sonie worked as assistant directors on this film. Woh Kaun Thi? is a 1964 Indian Hindi-language mystery thriller film directed by Raj Khosla, starring Sadhana, Manoj Kumar and Prem Chopra. Though the screenplay was written by Dhruva Chatterjee, parts were later rewritten, wherein Manoj Kumar took an active role. Music by Madan Mohan was the asset of this movie.
