Flores & Prats is an architectural practice based in Barcelona, Spain, founded by Eva Prats and Ricardo Flores in 1998.
Established in 1998 by Eva Prats and Ricardo Flores, after their experience at Enric Miralles’s office, Flores & Prats combines design and constructive practice with academic activity.
In 2017 Flores & Prats were finalists for the FAD Architecture Prize, [1] ENOR Architecture Prize, [2] and Beazley Designs of the Year [3] at the Design Museum in London. They received a special mention in the National Architecture awards for Spain [4] in 2018 and been named Architects of the Year in the 2018 AD Awards. [5]
Born in Buenos Aires in 1965, Ricardo Flores is the founder of Flores & Prats with Eva Prats. He studied architecture at Universidad de Buenos Aires, Facultad de Arquitectura, Diseño y Urbanismo. In Buenos Aires he collaborated with various architecture firms, such as Aslan y Ezcurra and Baudizzone - Lestard - Varas Arquitectos. with a thesis titled "Interstitial Spaces". He collaborated with Solà Morales's studio for the exhibition project "Alexanderpolder, New Urban Frontiers" [6] held at the Kunsthal in Rotterdam in 1993. From 1993 to 1998 he collaborated as Design Architect at Enric Miralles's office. [7] He completed a PhD in architecture at ETSAB in 2016 with his thesis "Casa La Ricarda by Antonio Bonet Castellana". Ricardo has been professor of Design Studio at the School of Architecture of the Universitat International (Esarq-UIC) since 2004 until 2012, and since 2009 he is Associate Professor of Design Studio at ETSAB - Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura de Barcelona.
Eva Prats was born in Barcelona in 1965. She studied architecture at the ETSAB, where she graduated in 1992. Since 1986 she collaborated with Enric Miralles. [8] In 1993, Eva Prats participated the EUROPAN III [9] International Housing Competition, starting her own practice in 1994. In 1998 she established Flores & Prats with Ricardo Flores. In March 2019 she completed her PhD at RMIT University with a dissertation titled "To Observe with the Client, to Draw with the Existing. Three cases of architecture dealing with the As Found", directed by Jo Van Den Berghe, Leon van Shaik and Martyn Hook. She is Associate Professor of Design Studio at ETSAB since 2002. Since 2014 she is also Professor of Architecture and Urbanism – Industry Fellow at the RMIT – Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. [10]

The work of Flores & Prats has been awarded internationally. They have been part of the Emerging Offices Wallpaper* Directory in 2007. They won the Grand Prize for the Best Architectural Work of the Royal Academy of Arts in London 2008 for the rehabilitation project Mills Museum in Palma de Mallorca, which was also recipient for the Mallorca Architecture Award. [45] Flores & Prats were nominated for the International Prize Dedalo Minosse in Vicenza in 2011 for the New Microsoft Campus in Milan. [46] They have been nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award three times: first in 2005 for the Mills Museum of the Balearic Islands, [47] then in 2015 for Casal Balaguer and in 2017 for Sala Beckett. Their work was exhibited at La Biennale di Venezia - International Architecture Exhibition in 2014, [48] [49] 2016 [50] and 2018. [51] [52]
Casal Balaguer was nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award in 2015 [53] and was finalist in the Mallorca Architecture Awards in the Rehabilitation Category in 2017, and awarded the City of Palma Prize of Architecture in 2018.
Sala Beckett / International Drama Workshop was finalist at the FAD Architecture Prize, [54] ENOR Architecture Prize, [55] and Beazley Designs of the Year [56] at the Design Museum in London, nominated for the EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award 2017, [57] winner of Barcelona City Prize 2016 in Architecture [58] and Living Spaces - Simon Prize of Architecture 2016. [59] They have received a special mention in the National Architecture awards for Spain [60] in 2018 and been named Architects of the Year in the 2018 AD Awards. [61]
Richard Meier is an American abstract artist and architect, whose geometric designs make prominent use of the color white. A winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1984, Meier has designed several iconic buildings including the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, the Getty Center in Los Angeles, and San Jose City Hall. In 2018, 5 of Meier's employees accused him of sexual assault, which led to his resignation in 2021.
Ricardo Bofill Leví was a Spanish architect from Catalonia. He founded Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura in 1963 and developed it into a leading international architectural and urban design practice. According to architectural historian Andrew Ayers, his creations rank "among the most impressive buildings of the 20th century."
Enric Miralles Moya was a Spanish architect from Barcelona. He graduated from the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 1978. After establishing his reputation with a number of collaborations with his first wife Carme Pinós, the couple separated in 1991. Miralles later married fellow architect Benedetta Tagliabue, and the two practiced together as EMBT Architects. Miralles' magnum opus and his largest project, the new Scottish Parliament Building, was unfinished at the time of his death.
The Barcelona Pavilion, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich, was the German Pavilion for the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona, Spain. This building was used for the official opening of the German section of the exhibition. It is an important building in the history of modern architecture, known for its simple form and its spectacular use of extravagant materials, such as marble, red onyx and travertine. The same features of minimalism and spectacular can be applied to the furniture specifically designed for the building, including the Barcelona chair. It has inspired many important modernist buildings.
Venice Biennale of Architecture also known as Mostra di Architettura di Venezia – in its original language, Italian – is an International exhibition held every other year on even years in Venice, Italy, in which architecture from nations around the world is presented. It is the architecture section under the overall Venice Biennale and was officially established in 1980, even though architecture had been a part of the Venice Art Biennale since 1968.
Enrique Norten Rosenfeld, Hon. FAIA, is a Mexican architect and principal of the design firm TEN Arquitectos. Norten was born in Mexico City in 1954 where he graduated from the Universidad Iberoamericana with a degree in architecture in 1978. He obtained a Master of Architecture from Cornell University in 1980. In 1986, he founded TEN Arquitectos in Mexico City, initiating a lifelong commitment to architecture and design.

Andrés Mignucci FAIA is an Puerto Rican architect and urbanist of Corsican ancestry. His work has received recognition for its integration of the disciplines of architecture, urban design and landscape architecture in the creation of public spaces with a sense of place, human scale, and environmental responsibility. In 2005 Andrés Mignucci was elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. In 2012, he was awarded the Henry Klumb Award by the Puerto Rico College of Architects. In 2019, Mignucci received the Distinguished Professor Award by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, and was named Arts and Literary Arts Scholar in Residence at the Rockefeller Foundation's Bellagio Center in Bellagio, Italy.
Andrés Jaque is an architect, writer and curator. In 2016, he was awarded with the 10th Frederick Kiesler Prize, the most respected prize recognizing creators working in the intersection of art and architecture. In 2014, he won the Silver Lion to the Best Project at the 14th Venice Biennale. His work explores the role architecture plays in the making of societies. In 2003, he founded the Office for Political Innovation, a trandisciplinary agency working in the intersection of design, research and environmental activism.
Mansilla + Tuñón Architects is a Spanish architecture firm founded in Madrid in 1992 by Luis Moreno Mansilla and Emilio Tuñón. In 2014, Mansilla + Tuñón Architects is awarded the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts (Spain) by the Ministry of Culture of Spain.
João Luís Carrilho da Graça is a Portuguese architect and lecturer. He received the Pessoa Prize in 2008, and was Distinguished with the order for merit of the Portuguese Republic in 1999.

Carlos Arroyo Zapatero is a contemporary architect, urbanist and critic from Madrid, Spain. His work has been exhibited in internationally renowned venues like the Venice Biennale, the Institut Français d'Architecture, presented in referential publications like El Croquis, and quoted by many bloggers in the sphere.
Alejandro Gastón Aravena Mori is a Chilean architect and executive director of the firm Elemental S.A. He won the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2016, and also, he was the director and curator of the Architecture Section of the 2016 Venice Biennale.
Can Framis is the latest Fundació Vila Casas museum, an art center in Barcelona devoted to the promotion of contemporary Catalan painting. Located in the old Can Framis factory complex, the museum displays more than 250 paintings from the sixties to the present made by artists born or currently living in Catalonia. In addition to the permanent collection which is divided in three floors, Can Framis Museum has an area dedicated to temporary exhibitions named Espai Aø. The permanent collection is updated periodically, and two new temporary exhibitions are opened every three months.
Fernando Martín Menis, better known as Fernando Menis, is a Spanish Architect who graduated from the Barcelona Institute of Architecture, and also serves as the Chairman of the Laboratory for Innovation in Architecture, Design and Advanced Tourism of Tenerife. He is also a professor at the European University of the Canary Islands (EUC) and, occasionally, serves as a guest speaker at International Congresses of Architecture and Universities.
