Flute Australia Volume 2 is an album by Geoffrey Collins and David Miller. Released in 1988 it is the second in a series put out by 2MBS-FM. It features a series of works from different composers performed by David Miller on piano and Geoffrey Collins on flute. [1] It was nominated for the 1990 ARIA Award for Best Classical Album.

"Islands" is the title and closing track of the album of the same name by the progressive rock band, King Crimson, released in 1971. The song's pastoral, mellow, and quiet feeling distinguish it from the album's first four tracks. The song was played live only a few times in 1971, with Collins using a regular concert flute, and Fripp playing guitar in place of Marc Charig's cornet.

Flederman was an Australian contemporary music ensemble co-founded by Carl Vine and Simone de Haan in 1978. Both were teaching at Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Brisbane. It later became an ensemble with a fluctuating line-up and up to six members at a time. They released their debut album, Australian Music, in 1984. In 1988 Flederman issued their self-titled second album, which won the ARIA Award for Best Classical Album was nominated for Best Independent Release in 1989.

David Graham Miller is an Australian collaborative pianist. Along with Geoffrey Collins he was nominated for the 1990 ARIA Award for Best Classical Album for their album Flute Australia Volume 2 (2MBS-FM). He performed on the first full recording of Boojum by Peter and Martin Wesley-Smith with Sydney Philharmonia motet choir. With baritone Michael Halliwell, Miller released Soldier, Soldier: The Barrack-Room Ballads Of Rudyard Kipling. In 2013, Miller recorded Echo: the songs of Horace Keats for ABC Classics with soprano Wendy Dixon, baritone John Pringle and violinist Marina Marsden, performing the songs of the Australian composer Horace Keats. He continues to regularly record for Wirripang Records and perform with Charisma and Grevillea ensembles.
