Chiptune, also known as chip music or 8-bit music, is a style of synthesized electronic music made using the programmable sound generator (PSG) sound chips in vintage arcade machines, computers and video game consoles. The term is commonly used to refer to tracker format music which intentionally sounds similar to older PSG-created music, as well as music that combines PSG sounds with modern musical styles. It has been described as "an interpretation of many genres" since any existing song can be arranged in a chiptune style defined more by choice of instrument and timbre than specific style elements.
Pogo oscillation is a self-excited vibration in liquid-propellant rocket engines caused by combustion instability. The unstable combustion results in variations of engine thrust, causing variations of acceleration on the vehicle's flexible structure, which in turn cause variations in propellant pressure and flow rate, closing the self-excitation cycle. The name is a metaphor comparing the longitudinal vibration to the bouncing of a pogo stick. Pogo oscillation places stress on the frame of the vehicle, which in severe cases is dangerous.
The pogo is a dance in which the dancers jump up and down, while either remaining on the spot or moving around; the dance takes its name from its resemblance to the use of a pogo stick, especially in a common version of the dance, where an individual keeps their torso stiff, their arms rigid, and their legs close together. Pogopalooza: The Xpogo World Championship Series is a multi-city international touring championship that brings together the world's top Xpogo athletes for multiple days of competition, exhibition, and world record setting. Along with the competition, Pogopalooza also features the largest exposition of pogo stick companies, a Free Jump/Clinic area for people of all ages to try out an array of pogo sticks – classic to extreme, along with sponsorship activations and experiences associated with the event. The organizers of Pogopalooza refer to the event as "the largest pogo stick event on the planet." Started in 2004 in a parking lot in Lincoln, Nebraska, Pogopalooza enters its 11th year for 2014 and has grown to be the largest and most widely attended property associated with the sport of Xpogo.
Boing is a Spanish free-to-air television channel, owned by a joint venture between Mediaset España and Warner Bros. through its Spain unit, which was launched in 2010. When Cartoonito and Cartoon Network were shut down on 1 July 2013, many Cartoon Network programmes were moved to Boing, alongside new Boomerang programmes. The shows on the channel are also available in English via a second audio feed, whereas Doraemon uses the original Japanese audio track.
