Fond du Lac County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 104,154. Its county seat is Fond du Lac. The county was created in the Wisconsin Territory in 1836 and later organized in 1844. Fond du Lac is French for "bottom of the lake", so given because of the county's location at the southern shore of Lake Winnebago. Fond du Lac is the 342nd largest Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) in the United States. The Fond du Lac MSA and the Beaver Dam (city), Wisconsin Micropolitan Statistical Area, form the larger Fond du Lac-Beaver Dam Combined Statistical Area.

The Diocese of Fond du Lac is a diocese of the Episcopal Church in the United States of America, encompassing the northeastern third of Wisconsin. The diocese contains about 4,700 baptized members worshiping in 36 locations. It is part of Province 5. Diocesan offices are in Appleton, Wisconsin as are the diocesan Archives. Matthew Gunter is its bishop.

Fond du Lac High School is a comprehensive public high school in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin administered by the Fond du Lac School District. Opened in 2001, the school replaced the former Goodrich High School, which was the city's high school from 1922 to 2001. Fond du Lac High School has an enrollment of approximately 2000 students. Fond du Lac High School's athletic teams are known as the Cardinals.

State Trunk Highway 175 is a state highway in the US state of Wisconsin. It runs north–south in central Wisconsin from West Milwaukee to just south of Fond du Lac.

The Milwaukee Creams were a minor league baseball team based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that played under the Creams moniker between 1889 and 1913. The Milwaukee Creams played as members of the Western Association in 1889, Western League in 1902 and 1903 and Wisconsin-Illinois League in 1913. The Western League Creams franchise was forced to fold as the result of a territory dispute between the Western League and American Association.

Gene Smith (pitcher) American baseball player

Eugene F. Smith was an American pitcher who played for several Negro league baseball teams between 1938 and 1951. Listed at 6' 1", 185 lb., Smith was a switch hitter and threw right-handed. Smith was known as a hard-throwing pitcher during a solid career that saw him play for nine different Negro league clubs. In addition, he pitched for teams in Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Minor League Baseball, taking a three-year break to serve in the US Army during World War II (1943–1945).

Louis John Fellenz, Sr., was an American lawyer, politician, and judge from Wisconsin. He was District Attorney of Fond du Lac County for four years, was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate, and was a Wisconsin Circuit Court Judge for the last nine years of his life.

Fond du Lac Dock Spiders

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are a baseball team that plays in the Northwoods League. Based in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the Dock Spiders play their home games at Herr-Baker Field on the campus of Marian University. The Dock Spiders won the 2018 Northwoods League Championship and 2020 Northwoods League Wisconsin-Illinois Pod Championship.

In Milwaukee, freeways were constructed in response to an 8.5% increase in population during the 1940s. Road plans were drawn up in the 1950s through the 1970s and several freeways were built. A lack of foresight resulted in several communities experiencing sharp increases in property taxes such as in West Milwaukee, or the complete destruction of vibrant, African-American neighborhoods such as Bronzeville. After a decade of aggressive highway building in the 1960s, support for freeway construction began to wane as neighborhoods started to oppose construction. With the election of John Norquist as mayor in 1988, Milwaukee began to undo some of the damage of its highway construction. The dismantling of the Park East Freeway north of downtown led to a housing an entertainment construction boom and is the location of Fiserv Forum.
