Forest Lawn Memorial Park is a nonsectarian cemetery located in Boardman Township, Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. It was built in the 1930s and added to the National Register in 2018. [2] [3]

Notable burials at Forest Lawn include MLP infielder Floyd Baker (1916–2004) and actress Elizabeth Hartman (1943–1987).

On July 23, 1986, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. YWCA Mahoning Valley, formerly known as YWCA Youngstown, occupies the building. YWCA Youngstown merged with YWCA Warren on May 1, 2018 to become YWCA Mahoning Valley. East Lawn Cemetery and Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel is a historic cemetery and chapel at 605 Main Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Established in 1842, it is the newest and largest cemetery in Williamstown; the two older cemeteries date to the 18th century. It was established at a time when West Lawn Cemetery was in need of expansion, and this site was chosen for the location of a new cemetery. The initial few acres of land were donated by Asahel Foote, who sat on the committee formed to investigate the town's cemetery needs. The cemetery grew in size over the next several decades, reaching a size of about 40 acres (16 ha) by the early 20th century. Approximately half of the cemetery and its associated chapel were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Pleasant Lawn Cemetery is a historic cemetery located at Parish in Oswego County, New York. It was first used as a burial ground in 1814 and formally incorporated in 1871. Within the boundaries of this contributing site are three contributing buildings; a 19th-century receiving vault, the Mills-Petrie Mausoleum of 1899, and the Mills-Petrie Chapel of 1917. The earliest gravestones date from 1825.

Mill Creek Park Suspension Bridge United States historic place

The Mill Creek Park Suspension Bridge is a bridge in Youngstown, Ohio, United States. The 1895 bridge carries Valley Drive across Mill Creek to connect the east and west sides of Mill Creek Park. Following the wishes of Volney Rogers to create fanciful park entrances, Charles Fowler of the Youngstown Bridge Co. designed the structure. The Suspension Bridge is the oldest of six bridges in Mill Creek Park. It measures 86 feet long and 32 feet wide and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. It has been called the Silver Bridge, the Cinderella Bridge, the Castle Bridge, and the Walt Disney Bridge. In the summer and fall of 2007, the Suspension Bridge went through a major rehabilitation project to repair the historic structure, restore its visual prominence and improve its structural integrity. The project was coordinated through consultation with the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, Youngstown State University, the Ohio Historic Preservation Office and additional agencies. A Federal Highway Administration Enhancement Grant, secured through the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments, covered 80% of the total project cost. The bridge has been restored to its original splendor, reflecting its history, legacy, aesthetic appeal, cultural prominence and regional character.

Aiken Colored Cemetery, a historic cemetery in Aiken, South Carolina, USA, covers nearly 10 acres and is located several miles from the downtown area. It was the only burial grounds for Aiken's African-American community through the mid 20th century.

Van Buren Confederate Monument United States historic place

The Van Buren Confederate Monument is located in front of the Crawford County Courthouse in Van Buren, Arkansas. Built in 1899 by the Mary Lee Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the structure was initially erected in Fairview Cemetery. Honoring Confederate dead from the Battle of Pea Ridge, Battle of Prairie Grove, and the Battle of Wilson's Creek, the Sons of the Confederacy requested the memorial be relocated to the courthouse lawn in 1906, and it has remained there ever since. The monument was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996 as part of the Civil War Commemorative Sculpture Multiple Property Submission.

The Pioneer and Military Memorial Park is the official name given to seven historic cemeteries in Phoenix, Arizona. The cemeteries were founded in 1884 in what was known as "Block 32". On February 1, 2007, "Block 32" was renamed Pioneer and Military Memorial Park. The Pioneer and Military Memorial Park is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The historic Smurthwaite House, which is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places, is located on the grounds of the Pioneer and Military Memorial Park and is used as the cemetery's main office. Pioneer and Military Memorial Park is the final resting place of various notable pioneers of Arizona.

Helena Confederate Cemetery Historic cemetery in Phillips County, Arkansas, US

The Helena Confederate Cemetery is located in the southwest corner of the Maple Hill Cemetery on Holly Street in Helena, Arkansas. It is a small section of the larger cemetery, under one acre in size, and is marked by two significant memorials: the Confederate Memorial and the memorial to Confederate Army General Patrick Cleburne, whose burial here is the only known place associated with his life. The Cleburne memorial is a marble shaft 15 feet (4.6 m) in height, topped by an urn with flames coming from its top. The Confederate Memorial is a marble depiction of a soldier, mounted on a 30-foot (9.1 m) granite shaft, surrounded by pyramids of cannonballs and inverted cannons. The cemetery has more than 100 marked graves, 15 of which are unidentified Confederate dead, and 23 are of those killed in the 1863 Battle of Helena.

Youngstown was a station along the Erie Railroad and later the Erie-Lackawanna Railway, from 1922 to 1977 in Youngstown, Ohio. All railroad tracks behind the terminal have been removed, and the building is currently known as Erie Terminal Place, alternative student housing for students attending Youngstown State University.
