Francis Adu-Blay Koffie is a Ghanaian politician who served as a member of parliament for the Prestea-Huni Valley Constituency from 2009 to 2017. [1]
Koffie was born on 25 October 1962. He hails from Heman in the Western Region of Ghana. He had his early education at the Prestea LA Middle School graduating with his Middle School Leaving Certificate in 1979. [2] He obtained his diploma in accounting from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. [1] [3]
Koffie is a miner by profession. [2] Prior to entering politics,he was the assistant storekeeper of the Prestea Sankofa Goldfields Company Limited. [1] [3]
Koffie entered parliament on 7 January 2009 representing the Prestea-Huni Valley Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He remained in parliament for a second consecutive term but lost to Barbara Oten-Gyasi of the New Patriotic Party in his third bid to occupy the seat. [1] [3]
While in parliament,Koffie served on various parliamentary committees,some of which include;the Special Budget Committee,and the Works and Housing Committee. [3]
Koffie is married with four children. He identifies as a Christian. [1] [2] [3]

Prestea-Huni Valley Municipal District is one of the fourteen districts in Western Region,Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Wassa West District in 1988,which was created from the former Wassa-Fiase-Mpohor District Council,until the northern part of the district was split off to create Prestea-Huni Valley District on 29 February 2008;thus the remaining part was renamed as Tarkwa-Nsuaem District. However,on 15 March 2018,it was later elevated to municipal district assembly status by President Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo to become Prestea-Huni Valley Municipal District. The municipality is located in the eastern part of Western Region and has Bogoso as its capital town.
