Francisco José de Borja Echeverría (Santiago 1848- Santiago 1904) was a Chilean Conservative Party deputy and diplomat. He finished his secondary education at Instituto Nacional. In 1871 he graduated as lawyer working both as lawyer and teacher. From 1876 to 1879 he worked as deputy for Ovalle.
He was appointed Consul General in Argentina for the time of the Boundary treaty of 1881 between Chile and Argentina. From its founding in 1882 to 1884 he directed the Chilean agency for colonization and immigration with its headquarters in Paris.
The period of 1885 to 1888 he served again as deputy this time for La Victoria.

The Argentine War of Independence was a secessionist civil war fought from 1810 to 1818 by Argentine patriotic forces under Manuel Belgrano, Juan José Castelli, Martin Miguel de Guemes and José de San Martín against royalist forces loyal to the Spanish crown. On July 9, 1816, an assembly met in San Miguel de Tucumán, declaring independence with provisions for a national constitution.

Pedro Abelino Aguirre Cerda was a Chilean political figure, educator, and lawyer who served as the 22nd president of Chile from 1938 until his death in 1941. A member of the Radical Party since 1906, he was chosen by the left-wing Popular Front coalition as its candidate for the 1938 presidential election and won. He had previously served as deputy for San Felipe, Putaendo and Los Andes from 1915 to 1918, Minister of the Interior from January to September 1918 under president Juan Luis Sanfuentes, deputy for Santiago from 1918 to 1921, Minister of Justice and Public Instruction from 1920 to 1921 under president Arturo Alessandri, and senator for Concepción from 1921 to 1927. He died two years and eleven months into his presidency on November 25, 1941, at the age of 62, from tuberculosis.

The Grand Lodge of Chile is a regular Masonic body in Chile founded on May 24, 1862. The earthquake of 1906 destroyed the original headquarters and the archives of the Grand Lodge, which determined its definitive transfer to Santiago, settling in the Club de la República.

He was a member of the Civilista Party. He was mayor of Lima in 1886. He was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Peru and Senate of Peru. He served as minister of foreign affairs and interior in the Government of Peru, and also served as Minister to Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Chile. He served twice as Prime Minister of Peru and briefly second vice president of Peru from 1894 to 1895. He served as the President of the Chamber of Deputies from 1904 to 1905.
The Royal University of San Felipe was a university created by King Philip V in 1738, in territory which was then part of the Kingdom of Spain. It was officially founded in Santiago in 1747 and began teaching activities in 1758. It is the immediate predecessor of the University of Chile (1843).
