Professional career

The Kansas City Royals selected Mozzicato in the first round, with the seventh overall selection, of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft. [3] [4] [5] He signed with the Royals on July 17, 2021, receiving a $3.55 million signing bonus. [6] He opened the 2022 season in extended spring training. [7] In mid-May, he was assigned to the Columbia Fireflies of the Single-A Carolina League. [8]

Mozzicato returned to Columbia in 2023. [9] The Royals promoted him to the Quad Cities River Bandits of the High-A Midwest League. [10]

Personal life

Mozzicato's brother, Anthony, also pitched for East Catholic High School's baseball team. Anthony currently pitches for the Central Connecticut Blue Devils baseball team. [11]

His family owns Mozzicato's Bakery which has several locations in and around Hartford, Connecticut. [11]
