Franklin Lam Fan-keung (born 1961 in Hong Kong) is a former non-official member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong and an accountant.

Background

Lam obtained his bachelor's degree in Economics from University of Manchester. During the 1997 Asian financial crisis, he served as part of the Central Policy Unit. In 2000, he was equities managing director at UBS Investment Bank in Hong Kong, that is, a property analyst and fund manager. [1] Lam became a director in Global Asset Management in 2006. After leaving UBS in 2011, he founded HKGolden50, a small policy research organisation. [2]

Lam is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. [2]

Henry Tang

Joseph Yam

Joseph Yam Chi-kwong, GBM, GBS, CBE, JP is a Hong Kong statistician, economist and civil servant. He was the first Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Hong Kong's de facto central bank, holding the position for 16 years. In 2011 Yam was elected to a member of the board of directors of the Swiss Bank UBS AG. In 2014, following UBS AG's restructuring, he was appointed to the board of directors of the UBS Group AG and served in the position till May 2017. He has been a member of the Corporate Culture and Responsibility Committee and the Risk Committee of the UBS Group AG since 2011 and a non-official member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong since 2017.

The action takes place in contemporary Macau. The film made its premiere at the 63rd Venice International Film Festival, and was in competition for the Golden Lion.

Andrew Lau Hong Kong film director, cinematographer and producer

Andrew Lau Wai-Keung is a Hong Kong film director, producer, and cinematographer. Lau began his career in the 1980s and 1990s, serving as a cinematographer to filmmakers such as Ringo Lam, Wong Jing and Wong Kar-wai. In the 1990s, Lau decided to have more creative freedom as a cinematographer by becoming a film director and producer. Apart from making films in his native Hong Kong, Lau has also made films in China, Korea and the United States. The Iron-Fisted Monk is a 1977 Hong Kong martial arts film starring and directed by Sammo Hung in his directorial debut, who also was co-writer with Huang Feng and Yu Ting. The film co-stars Chan Sing and James Tien. The film was released on 25 August 1977.

Political Appointments System

The Political Appointments System is a scheme introduced in 2008 by the Hong Kong Government to reinforce its ministerial team by superseding the Principal Officials Accountability System and inserting two layers of politically appointed officials below the secretaries, who are political appointees. These appointees report only to the secretaries, but not the permanent secretaries, the highest-ranking civil servants. The appointment of undersecretaries and political assistants is an extension of the previous RPAS that was initially confined to principal officials. Prior to the introduction, there were 14 political appointees—3 Secretaries of Departments and 11 Directors of Bureaux.

Neo Democrats Political party in Hong Kong

The Neo Democrats was a pro-democracy, localist political group in Hong Kong composed mainly of former and disenchanted members of the Democratic Party New Territories East branch after the 2012 constitutional reform proposals. It had held one seat in the Legislative Council until Gary Fan lost his re-election in the 2016 Legislative Council election. Fan won the seat back in the 2018 by-election, but lost his seat after a court declared that he was not duly elected. It held 8 seats in the District Councils before its dissolution on 26 June 2021.

HKGolden50 is a small policy research organisation in Hong Kong. It claims to be 'non-political, non-profit, independent' although its prime mover is former Executive Council-member Franklin Lam. The group publishes research reports on perceived opportunities and bottlenecks in Hong Kong. The research team consists of Lam and nine post-80s members.

1988 Hong Kong legislative election

The 1988 Hong Kong Legislative Council election was an indirect election for members of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (LegCo); was held on 22 September 1988. It was the second ever election of the Legislative Council in Hong Kong history based on the 1987 Review of Developments in Representative Government, as the Government's democratisation process according to the agreement of the Sino-British Joint Declaration. There were 12 members elected by Electoral Colleges, 14 members from functional constituencies.

<i>Trivisa</i> 2016 Hong Kong film

Trivisa is a 2016 Hong Kong action crime thriller film produced by Johnnie To and Yau Nai-hoi, featuring the directorial debuts of newcomers Frank Hui, Jevons Au and Vicky Wong. The film is a fictionalized story about three real-life notorious Hong Kong mobsters, Kwai Ping-hung, Yip Kai Foon and Cheung Tze-keung, who are portrayed in the film by Gordon Lam, Richie Jen and Jordan Chan respectively. The film had its world premiere at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival's Forum section. The film also opened the 40th Hong Kong International Film Festival on 21 March 2016 and was theatrically released in Hong Kong on 7 April 2016.

Keith Lam Hon-keung, OBE, JP is a Hong Kong real estate investor and politician. He was an unofficial member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong from 1984 to 1985 and a member of the Election Committee since 1998.
