Fred Armstrong is a retired American professional soccer goalkeeper.
Armstrong played for the St. Petersburg Kickers in 1977. At the time, he had entered Florida Tech in order to play collegiate soccer. However, the NCAA denied his request as he had previously signed an amateur contract with the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the North American Soccer League. [1] In 1981, he played for the Cleveland Cobras of the American Soccer League. In 1982, he played for the Nashville Diamonds. [2] He currently coaches with the Thunder Soccer Club in Columbus, Ohio. [3]

He is distinguished as being the first Austrian to play in the National Football League (NFL). Marco Reda is a Canadian former soccer player who began his professional career in the USL A-League with the Toronto Lynx where he developed his skills as a solid defender. This led to his transfer to Europe to sign with Sogndal, where he would eventually have a tenure in Scandinavia for six years. Reda would return to Toronto, this time to sign with expansion franchise Toronto FC, and would conclude his career in the USL First Division. He also played at the indoor level in the National Professional Soccer League with the Toronto ThunderHawks in 2000–2001.

Jimmy Banks was an American soccer defender. After a standout career at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, Banks spent six seasons playing indoor soccer with the Milwaukee Wave. He also earned 35 caps with the national team between 1986 and 1991, including two games at the 1990 FIFA World Cup. After retiring from playing professionally, Banks entered the coaching ranks with both youth clubs and the Milwaukee School of Engineering men's team. Banks died of stomach cancer on April 26, 2019.
