The Nashville Diamonds were an American soccer club based in Nashville, Tennessee that was a member of the American Soccer League. Their home stadium was Hale Stadium on the campus of Tennessee State University, then the home of the Tennessee State Tigers football team. [1]

It was located just north of the Tennessee State Capitol building in the block bounded by modern-day Jackson Street, Fourth Avenue North, Harrison Street, and Fifth Avenue North. The ballpark was home to the city's minor league baseball teams from 1885 to 1963. The facility was demolished in 1969.

Following an archaeological survey, the land is expected to be reincorporated into Fort Negley Park.

Nashville Soccer Club is a Major League Soccer team based in Nashville, Tennessee. The team began play in the league in 2020 as a continuation of the USL club of the same name and plays its home matches at Nissan Stadium, with intention to move to a 30,000-seat stadium at the Nashville Fairgrounds in 2022. It is principally owned by John Ingram, owner of Ingram Industries, along with investors and partial owners the Turner family of Dollar General Stores and the Wilf family.

The Nashville Fairgrounds Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium under construction at the historic Nashville Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennessee. It will be the home of Major League Soccer club Nashville SC, which began play as an expansion team in 2020 at its temporary home in Nissan Stadium. Lawsuits to prevent its construction filed by supporters of the historic Tennessee State Fair were dismissed by Chancellor Ellen Hobbs Lyle in 2017 and 2019, but overturned by Appellate Judge J. Steven Stafford in July 2019 and litigation continues as of March 2021, but so does construction work on the stadium.

The Nashville Fairgrounds, also known as The Fairgrounds Nashville and the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, is an entertainment complex in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. The 117-acre (47 ha) site is located southeast of Downtown Nashville on the Nolensville Pike. It was home to the Tennessee State Fair, and also hosts the Fairgrounds Speedway, the Tennessee State Fairground Sports Arena, and the Nashville Flea Market. The site is planned to be redeveloped into a mixed-use development, with commercial and residential use, a community park, and a soccer stadium for the future Nashville SC of the Major League Soccer. Additionally, there is a proposal to upgrade Fairgrounds Speedway to host NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series events, but no plan has been formally announced or finalized.

The 2021 Major League Soccer season is the 26th season of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top professional soccer league in the United States and Canada. The 2021 season includes the addition of Austin FC as an expansion club, which takes the league to 27 teams. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the season was originally scheduled to begin on April 3, 2021, as opposed to the normal late February or early March start. This was later pushed back to April 16, 2021, which is the latest ever start to an MLS season. The regular season will conclude on November 7, 2021. At the beginning of the season, COVID-19 cross-border restrictions imposed by the Canadian government has also made the Canadian teams to play their home matches in the United States from the start of the season, while also sharing stadiums with other American MLS teams. On July 14, MLS announced that a select Toronto FC and CF Montréal matches would be played in Canada while working with the Canadian Government on how the matches were to be held. Nearly a week later, the MLS announced that the Canadian teams will play home matches in Canada in August 2021.
