The Friday Sports Panel is a weekly sporting chat show on BBC Radio 5 Live, hosted by Eleanor Oldroyd. The programme runs every Friday between 1300 & 1400. The show was created in 2014, as part of a revamped weekday lineup from the station and attracts some of the biggest names in sport to debate different sporting topics each week.

Format

The show is a panel chat show, that takes three guests from different sports and sees them discuss the wider sporting topics that are making the headlines that week. The show is unique in that it sees sportspeople debate topics outside their own sports and encourages anecdotes and opinions and sees the panellists chat with each other and share their sporting opinions. The discussion is chaired by Eleanor Oldroyd.

I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue is a BBC radio comedy panel game. Billed as "the antidote to panel games", it consists of two teams of two comedians "given silly things to do" by a chairman. The show was launched in April 1972 as a parody of radio and TV panel games, and has been broadcast since on BBC Radio 4 and the BBC World Service, with repeats aired on BBC Radio 4 Extra and, in the 1980s and 1990s, on BBC Radio 2. The 50th series was broadcast in November and December 2007.

Jonathan Ross English television and radio presenter

Jonathan Stephen Ross is an English broadcaster, film critic, comedian, actor, writer, and producer. He presented the BBC One chat show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross during the 2000s, hosted his own radio show on BBC Radio 2 from 1999 to 2010, and served as film critic and presenter of the Film programme. After leaving the BBC in 2011, Ross began hosting his comedy chat show The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV. Other regular roles have included being a panellist on the comedy sports quiz They Think It's All Over (1999–2005), being a presenter of the British Comedy Awards, and being a judge on the musical competition show The Masked Singer (2020–present) and its spin-off series The Masked Dancer (2021–present).

Friday Night with Jonathan Ross is a British chat show presented by Jonathan Ross and broadcast on BBC One between 2001 and 2010. The programme features Ross' take on current topics of conversation, guest interviews and live music from both a guest music group and the house band. First broadcast on 2 November 2001, the show began its final series in January 2010 and ended on 16 July 2010.

<i>The Wright Stuff</i>

The Wright Stuff is a British television chat show which was hosted by former tabloid journalist Matthew Wright from 2000 until 2018. It aired on Channel 5 on weekday mornings from 9:15 to 11:15am. The series characterised itself as "Britain's brightest daytime show", which gave "ordinary people the chance to talk and comment on everything from the invasion of Iraq to social, emotional and even sexual issues back at home", as well as featuring "showbiz stars and media commentators". The Wright Stuff was nominated as "Best Daytime Programme" at both the Royal Television Society and the National Television Awards.

<i>Mock the Week</i> British celebrity panel show

Mock the Week is a British topical satirical celebrity panel show, created by Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson – the co-producers of Whose Line Is It Anyway? – produced by Angst Productions for BBC Two, and premiered on 5 June 2005. The programme is presented by Dara Ó Briain and features regular appearances by comedian Hugh Dennis, as well as guest appearances by a variety of stand-up comedians, some of whom had regular appearances across several series.

Coleen Nolan Irish/British singer, author, beauty queen and television presenter

Coleen Patricia Nolan is an English singer, television personality, and author. Nolan was a member of the pop girl group, The Nolans, in which she sang with her sisters. Since 2000, she has been a regular weekly panellist on the ITV talk show Loose Women.

Sarah Millican English comedian

Sarah Jane Millican is an English comedian. Millican won the comedy award for Best Newcomer at the 2008 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In February 2013 she was listed as one of the 100 most powerful women in the United Kingdom by Radio 4's Woman's Hour, and in the same year she married fellow comedian Gary Delaney. Her first book, How to Be Champion, was published in 2017. Millican has performed on various tours, mainly across the United Kingdom, over the years.

The Apprentice: You're Fired! is a companion discussion programme, aired alongside The Apprentice since 2006, created by Mark Burnett for the BBC. The programme, initially shown on BBC Three before moving to BBC Two since 2007, focuses on interviews between the host and panel of guests, with a prominent candidate from the latest episode of the main programme that had been broadcast, often mixing general discussion, expert opinion and interviews, with highlight clips and small sketches designed for comedic effect. A League of Their Own is a British sports-based comedy panel game that was first broadcast on Sky One on 11 March 2010. It is hosted by James Corden and features Andrew Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp as team captains. John Bishop and Georgie Thompson were regular panellists for the first four series alongside two weekly guests. Jack Whitehall joined the cast as a regular panellist from the fifth to the twelfth series. Romesh Ranganathan joined the show as a regular panellist from the thirteenth series.

Frank Skinner's Opinionated is a British television comedy talk show hosted by the comedian Frank Skinner and produced by Avalon Television for the BBC. The show focusses on various topics in the previous week's news, with Skinner joined by two celebrity guests, also interacting with the studio audience. Each half-hour episode is filmed in a different location around the country. It was first shown on BBC Two, with a first series of six episodes broadcast from 16 April 2010, and a second of six more beginning on 25 March 2011. The third and final series began broadcasting on 10 November 2011.

3@Three was a topical TV live debate show on ITV. In the programme three topics are discussed each day at three o'clock by three rotating panellists. The first series of ten episodes aired on Monday-Friday between 2 and 13 August 2010. The show has not returned since. The show was created by Karl Newton and Alison Sharman, the duo responsible for Loose Women.
