From Scratch is a public radio show about the entrepreneurial life broadcast weekly on National Public Radio's Sirius XM channel NPR Now and on NPR Worldwide. [1] The program is hosted by Jessica Harris. From Scratch personalizes the lives of entrepreneurs by providing listeners with a candid, first-hand view of the launching process. Guests speak openly about their sources of inspiration, setbacks, helpful allies, and breakthrough moments. Featuring business, social and cultural leaders in all stages of the building process, From Scratch informs those who are either initiating their own entrepreneurial lives or simply feeling curious about those who make new ideas happen.

Format

Each show typically consists of two guests. Harris interviews her guests in person. Most of her interviews are conducted in a studio in New York City, but some are recorded “on the road” while Jessica is traveling to another state or country. On occasion, interviews are remotely recorded. The style of the interviews is very conversational. Guests paint a personal picture of their experiences through anecdotes.

Host

Jessica Harris is the producer and host of the show. [2] In addition to hosting From Scratch, Harris directed and produced the critically acclaimed documentary "On Common Ground" about a World War II reconciliation that featured commentary by Tom Brokaw, Walter Cronkite, and John Kenneth Galbraith. She also worked for Woody Allen on the film Sweet and Lowdown . Jessica is a board member of Jacob’s Pillow and the Berkshire Arts and Technology Charter Public School, located in the Berkshires in Massachusetts, and the Civilians Theater Company, located in New York City. Jessica resides in Manhattan with her husband and six children. [3]

Robert Alan "Bob" Edwards is an American broadcast journalist, a Peabody Award-winning member of the National Radio Hall of Fame. He hosted both of National Public Radio's flagship news programs, the afternoon All Things Considered, and Morning Edition, where he was the first and longest serving host in the latter program's history. Starting in 2004, Edwards then was the host of The Bob Edwards Show on Sirius XM Radio and Bob Edwards Weekend distributed by Public Radio International to more than 150 public radio stations. Those programs ended in September 2015. Edwards currently hosts a podcast for AARP.

Playboy Radio was an internet radio station originally launched on XM Satellite Radio on September 1, 2002. Its programming was dedicated to similar topics and celebrity personalities found in its parent publication, Playboy Magazine. The Stephanie Miller Show is a syndicated progressive talk radio program that discusses politics, current events, and pop culture using a fast-paced, impromptu, comedic style. The three-hour show is hosted by Stephanie Miller and is syndicated by Westwood One. Voice artist Jim Ward formerly co-hosted the show and is a recurring guest. Miller is frequently joined on the air by executive producer Travis Bone and general manager Chris Lavoie. The show debuted on September 7, 2004 and is broadcast live from Los Angeles, California each weekday morning from 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time, on Pacifica station, KPFK in LA, and radio stations throughout the U.S., as well as online, and via SiriusXM Progress Channel 127. 99% Invisible is a radio show and podcast produced and created by Roman Mars that focuses on design. It began as a collaborative project between San Francisco public radio station KALW and the American Institute of Architects in San Francisco. The show has been distributed by PRX for broadcasting on a number of radio stations and as a podcast on the Radiotopia network. On April 28, 2021, Roman Mars announced in an introduction of a re-released episode that 99% Invisible had been purchased by Sirius XM and marketed as part of its Stitcher Radio brand.

Mina SayWhat Llona is an American radio and TV personality. Currently on air on Philadelphia's urban radio station WUSL - Power 99. Mina grew up in Union City and Jersey City, New Jersey. She started her radio career at the age of 18 while living in New York and attending Syracuse University. She graduated cum laude from Syracuse University with a dual major in Television, Radio and Film from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication and Political Science. The show originates from New York City and airs live on weekday mornings on Faction Talk, an uncensored channel on the subscription-based satellite radio service SiriusXM. The show is also available on-demand through the SiriusXM app.
