Frozen Codebase was an American independent video game developer founded in 2006 by Ben Geisler. The company developed games for Xbox 360, [1] Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Wii and WiiWare.
On May 16, 2008, [2] Frozen Codebase and the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), announced a license agreement for Frozen Codebase to produce a video game based upon the sport of Roller Derby. [3]
On July 22, 2009, [4] Konami and Adult Swim announced that Frozen Codebase is the developer of the Metalocalypse video game Metalocalypse: Dethgame, a PS3 and Xbox 360 downloadable game. Dethgame was previewed at Comic Con 2009. [5] [6] But in July 2010, the game was confirmed to be cancelled by publisher Konami Digital Entertainment "in light of creative differences". [7]
In early 2012, Frozen Codebase was liquidated by ZyQuest, and quickly reformed as Zymo Entertainment, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of ZyQuest Inc. [8]
As of early 2015, a handful of Frozen Codebase veterans have formed a game consulting company known as Thawed Codebase. [9] Among Thawed Codebase's credited contract work includes Batman: Arkham Origins .
Salamander, retitled Life Force in North America and in the Japanese arcade re-release, is a scrolling shooter arcade video game developed and published by Konami. Released in 1986 as a spin-off of Gradius, Salamander introduced a simplified power-up system, two-player cooperative gameplay and both horizontally and vertically scrolling stages. Some of these later became normal for future Gradius games. In Japanese, the title is written using ateji, which are kanji used for spelling foreign words that has been supplanted in everyday use by katakana. Contra, another game by Konami was also given this treatment, with its title written in Japanese as 魂斗羅.
Contra is a video game series produced by Konami composed primarily of run and gun-style shooting games. The series debuted in February 1987 with the Japanese coin-operated arcade game of the same name, which has since spawned several sequels produced for various platforms.
Metalocalypse is an American musical adult animated television series created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha for Adult Swim. It premiered on August 6, 2006. The television program centers on the larger-than-life melodic death metal band Dethklok, and often portrays dark and macabre content, including such subjects as violence, death, and the drawbacks of fame, with hyperbolic black comedy. The show was widely heralded as both a parody and a pastiche of heavy metal culture.
Arika is a Japanese video game developer and publisher. It was formed in 1995 by former Capcom employees. It was originally known as ARMtech K.K, but was later named Arika. The name of the company is the reverse of the name of the company's founder, Akira Nishitani, who along with Akira Yasuda, created Street Fighter II. Arika's first game was Street Fighter EX. It was successful and was followed up with two updates, and its two sequels Street Fighter EX2 and Street Fighter EX3. In 2018, they released a spiritual successor to both Street Fighter EX and Fighting Layer, titled Fighting EX Layer. From 2019 to 2021, Arika collaborated with Nintendo to create the battle royale games Tetris 99, Super Mario Bros. 35, and with Bandai Namco for Pac-Man 99. Arika is also known for the Tetris: The Grand Master series, the Dr. Mario series, and the Endless Ocean series.
Rat City Roller Derby is a women's flat-track roller derby league in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 2004 as Rat City Rollergirls, LLC, the league has incorporated alternative cultural influences, and has inspired and mentored other leagues. Rat City is a founding member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), and has achieved success on the WFTDA stage, qualifying for WFTDA Playoffs every season, including a second-place finish in the 2007 WFTDA Championships.
WiiWare is a service that allowed Wii users to download games and applications specifically designed and developed for the Wii video game console made by Nintendo. These games and applications could only be purchased and downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel under the WiiWare section. Once the user had downloaded the game or application, it would appear in their Wii Menu or SD Card Menu as a new channel. WiiWare was a companion to the Virtual Console, which specializes in emulated games originally developed for other systems instead of original games.
Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball is a fantasy dodgeball video game developed by American studio Blazing Lizard and published by Gamecock for Xbox Live Arcade and SouthPeak Games for the Wii. The game was released on September 3, 2008 for Xbox Live Arcade, while the Wii version was released in 2009. Both were porly received by critics. The Xbox 360 version has an aggregated Metacritic review score of 44/100 and the lowest review is 16/100.

Bomberman Blast is an action game developed and published by Hudson Soft for the Wii and WiiWare as part of the Bomberman franchise. The game was released as two versions: a fully featured retail release and a WiiWare version known as Wi-Fi 8-Nin Battle Bomberman. The retail version was released in Japan on September 25, 2008, while the WiiWare version was released on September 30, 2008. The WiiWare version was released in Europe on September 12, 2008, and in North America on September 29, 2008.

Twisted Pixel Games, LLC is an American video game developer based in Austin, Texas. Originally a contractor, Twisted Pixel releases games based on its own intellectual properties such as The Maw and 'Splosion Man. The company uses its own proprietary engine, known as Beard, to power its games. On October 12, 2011, it was announced that Twisted Pixel had become part of Microsoft Studios. However, Twisted Pixel separated from Microsoft, and became an independent company again on September 30, 2015. In November 2021, the company became a subsidiary of Oculus Studios.

BurgerTime World Tour is a platform game in the BurgerTime series, developed by Frozen Codebase, Konami and digitally published by MonkeyPaw Games for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii in 2011-2012. The game was delisted from the Xbox Live and WiiWare digital storefronts in April 2014 due to an expiring license between publisher MonkeyPaw Games and IP owner G-Mode.
