Funworld Magazine, stylized as FUNWORLD Magazine, is a trade journal for the global attractions industry. [2] The magazine was launched in 1985. [3] It is published monthly in both print and digital version by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA). IAAPA also produces "News Flash", a daily e-newsletter that provides industry news stories from around the world.

George A. Hamid Sr. American entertainer

George Ameen Hamid Sr. is an entrepreneur who made major contributions to America's outdoor amusement and entertainment industry. He established significant productions during the 20th century for fairs, circuses, carnivals and expositions. He is the father of George A. Hamid Jr.. He was born in 1896 in Broumana, Lebanon. He moved to America in 1907 with the Buffalo Bill Wild West show, and later founded the Hamid-Morton Circus with Robert Morton.

The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) represents over 6,000 amusement-industry members in more than 100 countries worldwide and operates several global attractions-industry trade shows. Its annual IAAPA Expo in Orlando, Florida, is recognized as the world's largest attractions trade show in the number of attendees and exhibitors and providing members insight into current amusement trends, laws, operations and industry methodology. IAAPA also helps to promote guest-safety and ride-safety guidelines in conjunction with ASTM International and assists its members to uphold the highest amusement-industry safety and professional standards.

Applause Award international award to amusement parks

The Applause Award is an international award given out by Liseberg, a world-famous theme park in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is given out every two years to the amusement park whose "management, operations and creative accomplishments have inspired the industry with their foresight, originality and sound business development." The award is a bronze statue of two clapping hands. It was designed by Astri Bergman Taube, a Swedish sculptor. The winner is chosen by a board of governors with Liseberg's CEO, Andreas Andersen, being the chairman.

Polercoaster

Polercoaster is a type of amusement ride offered by US Thrill Rides and Intamin. An installation consists of a large tower structure which features glass elevators to an observation deck, as well as a steel roller coaster wrapping around the tower. The model was first introduced in 2012, and as of November 2013, four have been proposed for construction.

The Joker (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom) wooden roller coaster at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

The Joker is a steel roller coaster at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California. The ride opened on May 29, 2016, as a rebuild of former wooden roller coaster Roar, adding a new steel track on top of Roar's wooden support structure. This hybrid configuration was implemented by Rocky Mountain Construction and is themed to the Joker, a comic book character villain featured in DC Comics publications. The original Roar roller coaster was constructed by Great Coasters International and opened in 1999.

Time Traveler (roller coaster) Rollercoaster at Silver Dollar City

Time Traveler is a steel spinning roller coaster located at the Silver Dollar City theme park in Branson, Missouri, United States. Manufactured by Mack Rides of Germany in collaboration with the park's in-house team, Time Traveler opened in 2018, becoming Silver Dollar City's first new roller coaster since Outlaw Run opened in 2013. Time Traveler features the fictional story of clockmaker Charles Henry and his daughter spotlighting human achievements through time travel. The roller coaster reaches a height of 100 feet (30 m) with a maximum speed of 50.3 miles per hour (81.0 km/h) and a total track length of 3,020 feet (920 m).

Out-of-home entertainment

Out-of-Home Entertainment is a term coined by the amusement industry to collectively refer to experiences at regional attractions like theme parks and waterparks with their thrill rides and slides, and smaller community-based entertainment venues such as family entertainment and cultural venues.
