G. Gordon Atcheson (born May 17,1954) is a Judge of the Kansas Court of Appeals.
Atcheson received his Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Michigan in 1976 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1981. After graduation from law school he began his legal career in the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office in 1981. He joined the law firm of Hall,Turner &Pike in Wichita after leaving the district attorney's office in 1983. He remained with that firm until 1987 when he joined the firm of Shamberg,Johnson &Bergman. In 1989,he left Shamberg,Johnson &Bergman,and began a private practice with the firm of Blake &Uhlig,where he remained until February 2005,when he founded the firm of The Atcheson Law Office,Westwood,KS,where he was the sole practitioner and practiced until his appointment to the court. He was one of 18 judges and attorneys who were under consideration for a seat on the court. [1] He was appointed to the court by Governor Mark Parkinson on July 14,2010,to fill the vacancy created by the death of Jerry Elliott. [2] He took his seat on September 10,2010 after closing his law practice. [3] Atcheson was retained by voters on November 6,2012, [4] and again on November 8,2016. [5]
Atcheson was born and raised in Cortland,New York. [2] Atcheson has been married to Cheryl A. Pilate,a principal at a Kansas City,MO law firm,since 1979. They have two children,a son Eric,and a daughter,Katherine. [3] He is a member of the Democratic Party.
Phillip D. Kline is a former American attorney who served as a Kansas state legislator,district attorney of Johnson County,and Kansas Attorney General. Kline,a member of the Republican Party,lost re-election as attorney general to Democratic challenger Paul J. Morrison in 2006. Kline was appointed by the Republican County Central Committee to fill the vacancy left by Morrison's election as Kansas Attorney General,becoming district attorney of Johnson County on the day he left office as attorney general and essentially switching jobs with Morrison. Kline then ran for a full term as district attorney,but was defeated in the 2008 Republican primary.

Menis E. Ketchum II is an American politician and jurist who served as a justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia. He was elected as a Democrat to a twelve-year term on the Court in November 2008 and served as chief justice in 2012 and served a second term as chief justice in 2016. He resigned in July 2018 with slightly less than 18 months left in his term. Ketchum resigned prior to the Impeachment of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia,but was still implicated by the House of Delegates. On July 31,2018,he pled guilty to a felony count of fraud related to his personal use of a state vehicle and gas fuel card.

He also previously sat on the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey from 1996 to 2010.
