Popular playback singer and dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripada has been the voice of Samantha in most of her Telugu language films right from her debut in Ye Maaya Chesave. Seethakaathi is a 2018 Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, starring Vijay Sethupathi in his 25th lead role in a film. The film began production in April 2017. Upon release the film received very positive reviews from critics but they criticised the lengthy runtime of the film.

The film is based on the gender inequality and harassment faced by female police officers. Sri Priyanka won Norway Tamil Film Festival Awards for Best Actress at Norway Tamil Film Festival Awards in 2020.
