GMIS International

GMIS International is the largest professional organization for public sector information technology (IT) leaders in the United States.[ citation needed ] Founded in 1971, GMIS has over 400 member organizations and sister organizations in six (6) countries - Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. GMIS currently has active State Chapters in 30 U.S. states.

GMIS provides a forum for government agencies including federal, state, local, educational (K-12 and higher education) and special districts so that they can exchange IT best practices that enhance the delivery of government services. [1] International affiliations provide a global perspective that enables diversity of opinions and experiences.

GMIS holds an Annual GMIS International Conference each year where IT leaders come to learn from each other and industry experts and share knowledge and lessons learned. The 2009 conference, scheduled for August 23 through 27th in Newport, Rhode Island, features keynote speaker Senior Vice President Howard Charney, is a member of Cisco’s Office of the President and Executive Staff and reports directly to CEO John Chambers.

In addition to networking with public sector IT leaders from around the world, membership in GMIS International includes access to a document repository, active listserv, leadership opportunities through participation on an Advisory Council and the Executive Board, and vendor participation to share emerging technologies and trends.

GMIS is led by a ten (10) member Executive Board consisting of a President, four Vice Presidents (1st – 4th), a Chapter Development & Conference Coordinator, an International Director, an Executive Director (immediate past president), a Treasurer, and a Conference Chairperson. The Board appoints an Editor for the GEM (GMIS Education Material), newsletter and an Executive Secretary to manage Headquarters.

The Board also appoints an Advisory Council each year, which is composed of IT leaders from member organizations, who provide advice to the Board and actively participate in a variety of Subcommittees that support the Board’s annual priorities.

Space Generation Advisory Council Non-governmental organisation

The Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), in support of the United Nations Programme on Space Applications, is a non-governmental organisation and professional network which "aims to bring the views of students and young space professionals to the United Nations (UN), space industry and other organisations”. SGAC has a clear purpose to connect, inspire, engage and advocate; it works to raise awareness among the next generation of space professionals on a global scale. The SGAC network currently represents over 15,000 members across 150 countries - the world's largest network of students, young professionals and alumni in the space industry. SGAC operates in the six official languages of the United Nations, though the official working language is English.

Presidents Council of Advisors on Science and Technology White House advisory board

The President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) is a council, chartered in each administration with a broad mandate to advise the President of the United States on science and technology. The current PCAST was established by Executive Order 13226 on September 30, 2001, by President George W. Bush, was re-chartered by President Obama's April 21, 2010, Executive Order 13539, and was most recently re-chartered by President Trump's October 22, 2019, Executive Order 13895.

The Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan Latino organization affiliated with the AFL-CIO and the Change to Win federation. Robert L. Gordon III

Robert "Rob" L. Gordon III is a cross-sector leader in the government, military, academic, nonprofit and high tech sectors. Gordon was appointed the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy on July 19, 2010, serving under U.S. President Barack Obama. In the Defense Department he was responsible for defense-wide policy, program execution and oversight of global community support programs to care for, support, and empower 2 million Service members, 1.2 million military spouses, 2 million children, and over 2 million military families worldwide. He oversaw the Department of Defense school system (DoDEA) that serves approximately 90,000 students in 194 schools in 14 districts located in 12 foreign countries, seven states, Guam, and Puerto Rico. He oversaw voluntary education for over half a million active duty military service members; defense resale for over 500 commissaries and exchanges; military spouse education and career advancement for 1.2 million military spouses; child development and youth activities programs; state liaison initiatives; family assistance and non-medical counseling services; and collaborated with Congressional leaders, White House leaders, business and non profit sectors, chambers of commerce, academic communities, and a multitude of federal and state agencies to strengthen the resilience and well-being of the military community.

SIM NJ (Society for Information Management – New Jersey Chapter)

The New Jersey Chapter of The Society for Information Management is a professional organization of over 250 senior IT executives, chief information officers, prominent academicians, selected consultants, and other IT thought leaders. Members of the SIM NJ Chapter work for companies in the NJ metropolitan area or reside within this region. Eno Center for Transportation

National Academy of Science and Technology

The National Academy of Science and Technology is the highest recognition and scientific advisory body of the Philippines under the Department of Science and Technology. It was created through Presidential Decree 1003-A issued by President Ferdinand E. Marcos in 1976 to honor and recognize Filipino scientists who made worthy contributions in the advancement of science and technology in the country. It also recommends individuals to be conferred the Order of National Scientist upon approval of the President of the Philippines.

Technology Business Management Council is a Washington-based non-profit organization with the goal of creating and promoting “best practices for running IT as a business.” As of January 2018, the TBM Council has about 5,100 CIO, CTO, & CFO members who are advancing technology business management standards and education across all industries. Its current board of directors includes executives from AIG, Aflac, Apptio, Cisco, Dollar General, First American, Intuit, Great West Life, MasterCard, Micron, Nationwide, Red Ventures, Stanley Black & Decker, SunTrust, Tyson Foods, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL)

Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL) is a "nonprofit, nonpartisan educational and professional organization dedicated to building leadership and public policy knowledge within the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community." In 1989, Lin Liu, Sandra Yamane, Sharon Yanagi, Melinda Yee, Paul Igasaki, Rod Hsiao, and Chantale Wong, founded CAPAL in Washington D.C. in order to address the lack of Asian American Pacific Islander representation in public service. In almost 30 years, the organization has grown from an all-volunteer nonprofit organization to one with a Board of Directors, Staff, and Advisory Council.

Mumtaz Ali Kazi Pakistani scientist (1928-1999)

Mumtaz Ali Kazi, popularly known as M.A. Kazi, was one of Pakistan's leading scientists and educators. He was President of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences from 1978 to 1988 and President of the Chemical Society of Pakistan from 1977 to 1990.
