Gaetano Ungaro (born 21 September 1987) is an Italian former professional football player.

Club career

He played one game in the Serie A in the 2005–06 season for Reggina.

On 29 August 2018 he joined Serie D club Castrovillari. [1]

On 6 August 2019 he signed with Messina. [2]

Post-playing career

On 15 July 2021 he returned to Reggina once again, now in Serie B, in a technical supporting role. [3]

Personal life

He is currently married to the daughter of Reggina owner Pasquale Foti, and in 2015 they gave birth to their first child.

Reggina Calcio extended its stay in Serie A by a further season, despite being charged with involvement in Calciopoli at the end of the term. Reggina was allowed to retain its Serie A status, but was demoted eleven points out of its 2006-07 campaign, leading to the general consensus that its time in the top-flight division was running out, given that it had only sealed its Serie A stays by the shallowest of margins before.

The 2019–20 season was Società Sportiva Dilettantistica Palermo's 1st season in Serie D, the fourth-highest division of Italian football, in their history, after the exclusion of the club from Serie B in summer 2019. However, this was the second time that Palermo participated in the fourth division: in the 1987–88 season the sicilian club played in Serie C2, after a year passed outside of any football league, because of bankruptcy in 1986.

The 2021-22 season will be Reggina 1914's 107th season in existence. It will be their second consecutive season in Serie B. They will also participate in this season's Coppa Italia.
