Gagik Badalyan (born 26 March 1980) is an Armenian classical, pop and folk singer. [1] [2] [3]
Gagik Badalyan was born in Armenia in 1980. He studied music and graduate from the prestigious Komitas Conservatory of Yerevan. Gagik is well versed in classical, pop and Armenian traditional songs. He is an artist, musician, singer and vocal coach.
At an early age, Gagik Badalyan performed concerts in Europe, Russia, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Australia and United States. His work and genre register as a smooth revival of the Estradayin idiom. Before moving to the US, he earned several awards and toured as a soloist with various national ensembles and singers and performed next to great legends such as Hovhannes Badalyan and Ruben Matevosyan.
In 1999, Gagik performed at the Hollywood Bowl International Festival representing Armenia as a male vocalist. Since settling in Los Angeles, Badalyan has been occupied with concertizing and recording. His solo and group performances include an appearance at 2001's groundbreaking annual Nor Yerk event. The young artist also guest-sang on duduk master Yeghishe Manukyan's 2001 collaborative album, "Echo of the Mountain". In addition to numerous guest performances he has performed three solo concerts. In 1999 Badalyan records the "Love Songs" album and in 2002 he releases the "Fantastic Dreams" album.
The music of Armenia has its origins in the Armenian highlands, dating back to the 3rd millennium BCE, and is a long-standing musical tradition that encompasses diverse secular and religious, or sacred, music. Folk music was notably collected and transcribed by Komitas Vardapet, a prominent composer and musicologist, in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, who is also considered the founder of the modern Armenian national school of music. Armenian music has been presented internationally by numerous artists, such as composers Aram Khachaturian, Alexander Arutiunian, Arno Babajanian, Haig Gudenian, and Karen Kavaleryan as well as by traditional performers such as duduk player Djivan Gasparyan.
Alexander Grigori Arutiunian, also known as Arutunian, Arutyunyan, Arutjunjan, Harutyunian or Harutiunian, was a Soviet and Armenian composer and pianist, widely known for his 1950 Trumpet Concerto. A professor at Yerevan State Conservatory, he was recognized with many awards for his work, including the Stalin Prize in 1949 and People's Artist of the USSR in 1970, as well as numerous honors from his homeland of Armenia.

Had numerous recitals in Germany, France, Canada, Finland, Hungary, Austria, Japan, Baltic countries, USA and Poland. Performed with conductors Khanjian, Tjeknavorian, Manino (Italy), van Tristen (Netherlands), Koch, Emin Khachaturian. She many times appeared with the Komitas Quartet.

Swallow Music Awards is an annual national music awards ceremony first held in Yerevan, Armenia, on 25 March 2017. The awards are created and sponsored by RA Ministry of Culture to appreciate and spur the activities of individuals and creators of various genres of Armenian musical art, as well as to display the significant achievements in the field of music to the broader layers of society. The awards consist of four parts: achievements in classical genre, folk genre, mass pop genre, and special/other awards. During the ceremony artists are given the awards designed by Armenian painter and designer Arman Nur. Each year, the award ceremony airs live on Public Television company of Armenia.
