Gamenauts is an independent game development studio based in Silicon Valley, founded by Stanley Adrianus.
Gamenauts was founded in September 2005 by Stanley Adrianus, formerly of Yahoo! Games. [1]
In 2012, the company announced a publishing initiative for indie Asian developers, signing up studios from South East Asia such as Kurechii Studio, Menara Games, Artlogic Games and Nerdook Productions to publish their mobile titles for the worldwide market. [2]
Ninja Fishing is a mobile game developed by Gamenauts, blending fishing mechanics with an arcade-style slicing minigame [3] , and is the studio's most successful release. Released in 2011 for iOS and later for Android, the game has surpassed 5 million downloads on the Google Play Store. Players control a ninja who casts a fishing line, maneuvers it to avoid obstacles while descending, catches fish on the way up, and then slices them mid-air for points, similar to Fruit Ninja. The game has received over 105,000 reviews on Google Play, averaging a 3.9-star rating. Critically, Ninja Fishing holds a Metascore of 80/100 on Metacritic, indicating generally favorable reviews [4] . In 2013, following the release of Ninja Fishing, Vlambeer published a similar title, Ridiculous Fishing. [5]
