Garrison station (RTD)

Garrison is an at-grade light rail station on the W Line of the RTD Rail system. It is located near the intersection of West 13th Avenue and Garrison Street, after which the station is named, in Lakewood, Colorado. [1]

The station opened on April 26, 2013, on the West Corridor, built as part of the Regional Transportation District (RTD) FasTracks public transportation expansion plan and voter-approved sales tax increase for the Denver metropolitan area. [4] [5]

Garrison station is located in a residential neighborhood and has no bus connections or park and ride lot. The station has a covered bicycle parking area and the W Line Bikeway connects the station to neighborhoods west of the station.

Originally operating as part of the D Line, the station was opened on October 8, 1994, and is operated by the Regional Transportation District. It is the current northern terminus for Five Points trains. Currently there is only one track on Welton Street for light rail trains, necessitating track sharing for trains in both directions between here and 20th & Welton. Therefore, only one line serves this station and all stations on the Five Points branch.

The station is located in Berkley on an embanked section of track immediately east of Federal Boulevard. Clear Creek/Federal station is the third station outbound on the Gold Line from Denver Union Station and also includes three bus bays and a 283-stall park and ride facility. The station opened on April 26, 2019.
