Gary George Gray (born September 21,1952 in New Orleans,Louisiana) is a former Major League Baseball first baseman who played parts of six seasons from 1977 until 1982. During that time,he played for the Texas Rangers,Cleveland Indians,and Seattle Mariners.
Gray played college baseball at Southeastern Oklahoma State University,and was selected by the Rangers in the 18th round of the 1974 Major League Baseball Draft. He spent 1974 with the Rangers' rookie squad,then played for the Anderson Rangers in 1975. With Anderson,Gray had a .302 batting average,18 home runs,and 95 runs batted in in 135 games. In 1976,he played for the San Antonio Brewers,and had a .305 batting average,19 home runs,and 109 runs batted in over 124 games. [1] Gray spent the next three seasons primarily with the Tucson Toros,the Rangers' AAA affiliate,but saw bits of playing time with the major league Rangers. He made his debut on June 23,1977,going 0-for-2 in his only game,and played in 17 and 16 games the following two seasons. [2]
Before the 1980 season began,the Rangers traded Gray,Mike Bucci,and Larry McCall to the Cleveland Indians for David Clyde and Jim Norris. That year,he hit .148 in 28 games with Cleveland,and spent most of the year with the Tacoma Tigers. The following offseason,he was picked up by the Seattle Mariners in the Rule 5 Draft,as manager Rene Lachemann watched Gray play in the Pacific Coast League and wanted him in the starting lineup. [3] He had his best season in 1981,splitting time at first base with starter Bruce Bochte and hitting 13 home runs in just 208 at bats. The next season,he hit .257 in a career high 80 games. [2] After the season,his contract was sold to the California Angels. He played from 1983 to 1987 in the Mexican League,primarily with the Rieleros de Aguascalientes,before retiring from baseball. [1]

He also spent significant time as a pinch hitter.

Meyer primarily played first base,but also played left field,third base,and right field. He batted left-handed while throwing right-handed. During his playing career,Meyer was listed at 5 feet 11 inches (180 cm) and weighed 180 pounds (82 kg).

Due to the 1981 player's strike,the season was split in half,with pre-strike and post-strike results. The Mariners were sixth in the division in the first half at 21–36 (.368),and fifth in the second half at 23–29 (.442). The strike began on June 12 and regular season play resumed on August 10.
The 1980 Seattle Mariners season was their fourth since the franchise creation,and ended the season finishing seventh in the American League West with a record of 59–103 (.364).
Juan Ramón Bernhardt Coradin is a retired professional baseball player whose career spanned 13 seasons. Roger Christian Hansen is an American former professional baseball player and a former professional baseball coach. Hansen primarily played catcher during his playing career,but also played first base and third base on occasion. Before his current assignment with the Mariners,he was a catching consultant in their organization. Over his playing career,Hansen played for the rookie-level GCL Royals (1980),the Class-A Charleston Royals (1981–1982),the Class-A Fort Myers Royals (1983),the Double-A Jacksonville Suns (1983),the Double-A Memphis Chicks (1984–1985),the Triple-A Omaha Royals (1985–1986),the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts (1987),the Double-A Vermont Mariners (1988),the Double-A Williamsport Bills and the Triple-A Calgary Cannons. Hansen has never played in Major League Baseball.
Mark Andrew Mathias is an American professional baseball second baseman who is a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers,Texas Rangers,Pittsburgh Pirates,and San Francisco Giants. Mathias played college baseball at California Polytechnic State University,San Luis Obispo,and was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the third round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft. He made his MLB debut in 2020.
