Squash, sometimes called squash rackets, is a racket sport played by two (singles) or four players (doubles) in a four-walled court with a small, hollow, rubber ball. The players alternate in striking the ball with their rackets onto the playable surfaces of the four walls of the court. The objective of the game is to hit the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. There are about 20 million people who play squash regularly world-wide in over 185 countries. The governing body of squash, the World Squash Federation (WSF), is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and the sport will be included in the Olympic Games, starting with the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. The Professional Squash Association (PSA) organizes the pro tour.
Thierry Lincou is a retired professional squash player from France. He reached the World No. 1 ranking in January 2004. That year, Lincou won the World Open title, the Hong Kong Open and the Super Series Finals. He has been known as one of the greatest lateral movers in the game, as well as being one of the fittest players in the history of squash. His nickname, "titi", was coined by a former competitor, Amr Shabana. He called Thierry "titi-tight," because of his precision and tight shots.
The Professional Squash Association, aka PSA, is the governing body for the men's and women's professional squash circuit. The body operates in a similar fashion to the ATP and the WTA for tennis. The PSA's highest professional level, the PSA World Tour involves over 250 tournaments annually around the world. Over 1,200 players from five continents and more than 60 countries are registered with the PSA. Rankings are updated weekly based on performances.
Jonathon Tyler Power is a Canadian retired professional squash player. In 1999, he became the first North American squash player to reach the World No. 1 ranking. He won 36 top-level squash events during his career, including the World Open in 1998, and the British Open in 1999.
Vanessa Louise Atkinson is a former professional squash player from the Netherlands, who won the World Open in 2004 and reached the World No. 1 ranking in December 2005.

Raneem Mohamed Yasser Saad El Din El Welily is a former professional squash player from Egypt. She reached a career-high world ranking of No. 1 in September 2015. She is a three-time finalist at the World Open, in 2014, 2016, and 2019-2020. She became the World Champion in 2017, after defeating her compatriot Nour El Sherbini in the finals.
Camille Serme is a professional squash player from France. She reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 2 in February 2017.
Simon Rösner is a German former professional squash player. He broke into the Top 10 PSA World Rankings for the first time in November 2014, going on to become the highest-ranked male German squash player of all time. Rösner subsequently reached a world ranking of No. 6 matching Germany's Sabine Schone's career-high world ranking of No. 6 in June 2015. Rösner broke into the world Top 5 in June 2018 and Top 3 in December 2018 making him the highest-ever-ranked German player.
Arturo Israel Salazar Martínez, known as Arturo Salazar, is a professional squash player who represented Mexico. He reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 36 in January 2011. He won two gold medals and a bronze at the 2011 Pan American Games, in the Doubles, Team and Singles events. His twin brother César Orlando Salazar Martínez is also a professional squash player.
César Orlando Salazar Martínez, known as César Salazar, is a professional squash player who represents Mexico. He reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 17 in November 2017. He won a gold and a silver medal at the 2011 Pan American Games, in the team and singles events. His twin brother Arturo Israel Salazar Martínez is also a professional squash player.
Paul Daniel Coll is a New Zealand professional squash player. In March 2022, he became the first New Zealand man to achieve a world ranking of World No. 1. He is a two times British Open champion, having won this tournament in 2021 and 2022.
Diego Elías Chehab is a squash player who represents Peru. He is the 2023–24 World Champion. In April 2023, he reached a ranking of number 1 in the world, the first South American player in squash history to do so.
The 2016–17 PSA World Tour is the international squash tour organised circuit organized by the Professional Squash Association (PSA) for the 2016 squash season. It's the 2nd PSA season since the merger of PSA and WSA associations in 2015. The most important tournaments in the series is the Men's World Championship and the Women's World Championship. The tour features three categories of regular events, World Series, which feature the highest prize money and the best fields, International and Challenger. In the middle of the year, the PSA World Series tour is concluded by the Men's PSA World Series Finals and the Women's PSA World Series Finals in Dubai, the end of the world series season for the top 8 rated players. Players performances in the tour are rated by the Men's World Rankings and Women's World Rankings.

Hania El Hammamy is an Egyptian professional squash player. She became a top seed in women's junior squash rankings at the age of 16. As of December 2024, she is ranked number 3 in the world.
Lwamba Chileshe is a Zambian-born New Zealand professional squash player. He achieved his highest career PSA ranking of 144 in October 2020 as a part of the 2020-21 PSA World Tour.
