A tragic twist of fate, as Gauraiya falls into a borewell, intertwines her story with that of her parents. They had their hopes and aspirations shattered, but found solace in Gauraiya's unwavering spirit. [5]

Peepli Live is a 2010 Indian satirical black comedy film that explores the topic of farmer suicides and the subsequent media and political response. It is written and directed by Anusha Rizvi in her directorial debut, and produced by Aamir Khan Productions. Omkar Das Manikpuri is an Indian stage and film actor. He is a native of Brindanagarm (Chhattisgarh) and has been a member of folk-theatre doyen Habib Tanvir's, Naya Theatre company for several years. Manikpuri made his Hindi film debut as a lead in Aamir Khan productions' Peepli Live in 2010.
