Gebremeskel Chala Motalo (Dr.) is Ethiopian politician serving as deputy president of South Ethiopia Regional State since June 2024. He also served as Minister of FDRE Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration since October 2021. [1] Gebremeskel is from Wolaita people. Gebremeskel Chala previously served as director general of FDRE Urban Job Creation and Food Security Agency. [2]
Gebremeskel has served Ethiopia in different capacities including Ethiopian Federal urban job creation and food security agency director general to ministerial level. He is also negotiator to Ethiopia accession to World trade organization. [3]

The East African Community (EAC) is an intergovernmental organisation in East Africa. The EAC's membership consists of eight states:Democratic Republic of the Congo,the Federal Republic of Somalia,the Republics of Burundi,Kenya,Rwanda,South Sudan,Uganda and Tanzania. The Welayta,or Wolaitans are an ethnic group located in Southwestern Ethiopia. According to the most recent estimate (2017),the people of Wolayta numbered 5.83 million in Welayta Zone. The language of the Wolayta people,similarly called Wolaytta,belongs to the Omotic branch of the Afro-Asiatic language family. Wolayita or Wolaita is an administrative zone in Ethiopia. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is an Ethiopian public health official,researcher,diplomat,and the Director-General of the World Health Organization since 2017. He is the first African to become WHO Director-General,receiving an endorsement for the role by the African Union. Tedros played a role in the response to the Ebola virus epidemic,the COVID-19 pandemic,and the 2022–2023 mpox outbreak.
Abiy Ahmed Ali is an Ethiopian politician who is the current Prime Minister of Ethiopia since 2018 and the leader of the Prosperity Party since 2019. He was awarded the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize "for his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation,and in particular for his decisive initiative to resolve the border conflict with neighbouring Eritrea". Abiy served as the third chairman of the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) that governed Ethiopia for 28 years and the first person of Oromo descent to hold that position. Abiy is a member of the Ethiopian parliament,and was a member of the Oromo Democratic Party (ODP),one of the then four coalition parties of the EPRDF,until its rule ceased in 2019 and he formed his own party,the Prosperity Party.
Solomon Areda Waktolla is an Ethiopian lawyer who had served as the Deputy Chief Justice/Vice President of the Federal Supreme Court of Ethiopia from 2018 to 2023. Solomon is a prominent lawyer with 25 years of experience in the practice of law,public administration and policy research who is committed for seeing a free and independent judiciary in Ethiopia. Justice Waktolla served in the Ethiopian Judiciary mainly as a judge for 20 years on different levels of the court in both regional and federal positions. In addition,he has been appointed to the membership of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) at The Hague,Netherlands for a six-year term to serve as an Arbitrator. Justice Solomon Waktolla was appointed on 15 November 2022 by the UN General Assembly as a Half-time Judge of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal for a mandate starting on 1 July 2023 and ending on 30 June 2030. In addition,He has been appointed by the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank as a Judge of the Administrative Tribunal of the African Development Bank,effective from November 2023. Justice Waktolla is an accomplished judge and jurist with many years of legal and judicial work experience at both national and international levels.
Adanech Abebe is an Ethiopian politician who is serving as the thirty-second mayor of Addis Ababa since 2021. She has been serving as a deputy mayor from 2020 until 2021. She previously was the Minister of Revenue and Customs Authority from 2018 to 2020,when she became the first female to assume the role of the Federal Attorney General of Ethiopia. She is the first woman to hold the mayorship since it was created in 1910.
The Transitional Government of Tigray was a caretaker administration that was formally declared by the House of Federation of Ethiopia on 7 November 2020,in the context of a conflict between the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF),in power in the Tigray Regional State and the federal government of Ethiopia. It tackles drug trafficking,cybercrime,arms trafficking,human,and other domestic or international organized crime.
Gedion Timotheos is an Ethiopian politician who is serving as Attorney General since 2 November 2021. He has served as Minister of Justice from 6 October,and previously was the Ethiopian attorney general before the position again was renamed to the Minister of Justice.
