Gemma Nelson (born 1984, West Yorkshire, UK) is a mixed media painter based in London. Her work explores themes of glamour, femininity and obsessive behavior. Nelson studied at The Slade School of Fine Art, London, graduating in 2007. [1]

She was shortlisted for the Channel 4 / Saatchi Gallery's 2007 4 New Sensations prize and this generated significant interest in her work. [2] [3]

Nelson was also a finalist in the Nationwide Mercury Art Prize 2007. [4]

Nelson has also exhibited at the Laure Genillard Gallery [5] in London, Coombe Gallery in Devon and Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2008 in Liverpool as part of the European Capital of Culture year and London. [2]

Turner Prize

The Turner Prize, named after the English painter J. M. W. Turner, is an annual prize presented to a British visual artist. Between 1991 and 2016, only artists under the age of 50 were eligible. Awarding the prize is organised by the Tate gallery and usually staged at Tate Britain, though in recent years the award ceremony has sometimes been held in other UK cities. Saatchi Gallery

The Saatchi Gallery is a London gallery for contemporary art and anindependent charity opened by Charles Saatchi in 1985. Exhibitions which drew upon the collection of Charles Saatchi, starting with US artists and minimalism, moving to the Damien Hirst-led Young British Artists, followed by shows purely of painting, led to Saatchi Gallery becoming a recognised authority in contemporary art globally. It has occupied different premises, first in North London, then the South Bank by the River Thames, and finally in Chelsea, Duke of York's HQ, its current location. In 2019 Saatchi Gallery became a registered charity and begun a new chapter in its history. Recent exhibitions include the major solo exhibition of the artist JR, JR: Chronicles, and London Grads Now in September 2019 lending the gallery spaces to graduates from leading fine art schools who experienced the cancellation of physical degree shows due to the pandemic.

Simon Patterson is an English artist and was born in Leatherhead, Surrey. He was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 1996 for his exhibitions at the Lisson Gallery, the Gandy Gallery, and three shows in Japan. He is the younger brother of the painter Richard Patterson.

Artist-Led Initiatives Support Network

Artist-Led Initiatives Support Network, abbreviated ALISN, is a non-profit international support network for artists which provides exhibition spaces, strategic support, education, creative facilitation and artist-to-artist exchange. ALISN was founded in 2007 by designer Jordan Dalladay-Simpson and artist Iavor Lubomirov. ALISN was previously known as AFMMXII, and was officially re-branded as ALISN in August 2009.

Dryden Goodwin based in London, is a British artist known for his intricate drawings, often in combination with photography and live action video; he creates films, gallery installations, projects in public space, etchings, works on-line and soundtracks.

Martin John Callanan, is a British conceptual artist working in Scotland. He taught at the Slade School of Fine Art from 2008-2019. Key exhibitions include White Cube Mason's Yard, Or Gallery, Berlin, Casal Solleric, Spain, Whitechapel Gallery, London, Imperial War Museum, International Film Festival Rotterdam and Whitstable Biennale. In 2013 Callanan was awarded the Philip Leverhulme Prize, an award for young academic researchers. Callanan worked with the Bank of England for 12 months from July 2015, and was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
