Albert Eugene "Gene" Carmichael, Jr. (1927 - February 21, 2014) was an American politician and businessman.
Born in Lake View, South Carolina, Carmichael served in the United States Army in Europe during World War II. He graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. Carmichael was in several businesses including fertilizer, textiles, gas station, and restaurant. He served in the South Carolina Senate as a Democrat. [1] [2] Carmichael was sentenced in 1982 to ten years in prison for conspiracy to buy votes, obstruction of justice, and vote buying. [3]

Johnson Hagood Stadium, is an 11,500-seat football stadium, the home field of The Citadel Bulldogs football team, in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. The stadium is named in honor of Brigadier General Johnson Hagood, CSA, class of 1847, who commanded Confederate forces in Charleston during the Civil War and later served as Comptroller and Governor of South Carolina.

College Park is a stadium in Charleston, South Carolina. It was primarily used for baseball and was the home of Charleston RiverDogs. It is currently used by the Citadel Bulldogs baseball team for practice. The ballpark has a capacity of 4,000 people and opened in 1940. The grandstand is constructed of metal bleachers and is largely covered by a roof. The first few rows of seats between the dugouts are situated below ground level, giving fans the rare perspective seen from dugout level.

William Clay Matthews Sr. was an American football tackle and patriarch of the Matthews family of football players. Matthews played for four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL), the first in 1950. When the Korean War broke out, Matthews enlisted as a paratrooper for the Army's 82nd Airborne Division. In 1953, he returned to the 49ers for three seasons. He played college football at Georgia Tech. He was drafted in the 25th round of the 1949 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams before being traded to the 49ers.
Edward Lindell Teague Jr. was an American football coach and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina, from 1949 to 1950 and The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, from 1957 to 1965, compiling a career college football coaching record of 53–53–3. He also coached The Citadel Bulldogs men's soccer team from 1972 to 1976. Teague was also the athletic director at Guilford from 1949 to 1951 and The Citadel from 1957 to 1985.

Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM), formerly Turner Motorsports was an American professional stock car racing team that last competed in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the Nationwide Series, the Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and the ARCA Racing Series. The team was based in Mooresville, North Carolina co-owned by Texas businessman Steve Turner and North Carolina businessman Harry Scott Jr. The team fielded cars utilizing Hendrick Motorsports engines. Co-owner Scott also owned the unaffiliated Sprint Cup Series team HScott Motorsports.

Art Baker served as head coach for the fifth season. The Bulldogs played as members of the Southern Conference and played home games at Johnson Hagood Stadium.
