Eugene "Gene" Krebs was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives [1] from 1993 to 2000. His district consisted of a portion of Butler County,Ohio. He was succeeded by Shawn Webster. Krebs was also County Commissioner of Pleble County,Ohio for four years. [2]
Krebs previously served as a collegiate fencing coach. [3] For his dedication to the sport,the Gene Krebs Memorial Tournament was held in Krebs' honor at Miami University,on April 9,2022,and again on April 1,2023. [4] [5] It is important to note that despite the "memorial" verbiage,Krebs is still a living person and was in attendance.

Oxford is a city in Butler County,Ohio,United States. The population was 23,035 at the 2020 census. A college town,Oxford was founded as a home for Miami University and lies in the southwestern portion of the state approximately 40 miles (64 km) northwest of Cincinnati and 40 miles (64 km) southwest of Dayton. In 2014,Oxford was rated by Forbes as the "Best College Town" in the United States,based on a high percentage of students per capita and part-time jobs,and a low occurrence of brain-drain. It is a part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area.

Paycor Stadium,previously known as Paul Brown Stadium,is an outdoor football stadium in Cincinnati,Ohio. It is the home venue of the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League and opened on August 19,2000. Originally named after the Bengals' founder,Paul Brown,the stadium is located on approximately 22 acres (8.9 ha) of land and has a listed seating capacity of 65,515. The stadium is nicknamed "The Jungle",an allusion to not only the namesake Bengal tiger's natural habitat—hinted at with green-colored seats throughout—but also the Guns N' Roses song "Welcome to the Jungle",which is the team's unofficial anthem.

The Little Miami Scenic Trail is the fourth longest paved trail in the United States,running 78.1 miles (125.7 km) through five southwestern counties in the state of Ohio. The 1978 NCAA Division I basketball tournament involved 32 schools playing in single-elimination play to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division I college basketball. It began on March 11,1978,and ended with the championship game on March 27 in St. Louis,Missouri. A total of 32 games were played,including a national third-place game.
The Ohio Bobcats men's basketball team is an intercollegiate varsity sports program of Ohio University. The team is a member of the Mid-American Conference competing in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Bobcats have played their home games in the Convocation Center since 1968.
Gregory Wayne Oden Jr. is an American former professional basketball player. Oden,a 7'0" (2.13m) center,played college basketball at Ohio State University for one season,during which the team was the Big Ten Conference regular season champion and Big Ten Conference men's basketball tournament champion with Oden as the tournament MOP. Additionally,Oden and the Buckeyes were the tournament runner-up in the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship.
The Kent State Golden Flashes baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Kent State University in Kent,Ohio,United States. The team competes at the Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as a member of the Mid-American Conference. The head coach is retired Major League Baseball player Jeff Duncan,who was hired in June 2013.
The Miami RedHawks men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Miami University,in Oxford,Ohio. The RedHawks are a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC),starting play in the conference's 2013–14 inaugural season. Prior to the NCHC,from 1980 to 2013,the RedHawks were a member of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) until the original CCHA disbanded in 2013. They play in Steve "Coach" Cady Arena at the Goggin Ice Center.
Olga Mural Field at Schoonover Stadium is a baseball venue located on the campus of Kent State University in Kent,Ohio,United States. It is home to the Kent State Golden Flashes baseball team,a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in Division I and the Mid-American Conference East Division. The field opened in 1966 and was previously known as Gene Michael Field from 1990 to 2003. The field was renamed in late 2003 and renovated in 2005 with additional upgrades made from 2006 through 2008 and again in 2013 to 2014. It has a seating capacity of 1,148 people with a Shaw Sports Turf synthetic playing surface.

Jason Preston is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Ohio Bobcats.
Stephen Matias Kovacs was an American saber fencer and fencing coach. He was a three-time NCAA All American for Columbia University,four-time All-Ivy League,and the first fencer to win four consecutive Intercollegiate Fencing Association championships. As a fencing coach,he then coached at the Pingry School,Princeton Junior School,Stevens Institute of Technology,Duke University,Ridge High School,and private fencing clubs including one that he founded. In October 2021 he was arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual assault,endangering the welfare of a child,and false swearing,and imprisoned in the Somerset County Jail in Somerville,New Jersey. On October 29,2021,the United States Center for SafeSport temporarily suspended Kovacs,pending an investigation by it of allegations against him. On January 15,2022,Kovacs died in Somerset County Jail. His death is being investigated.
