Generali Deutschland AG (until 2008: AMB Generali) is a German holding company consisting of about 20 insurance companies. It is the second largest direct insurance company in Germany after Allianz. [2] Its headquarters is in Munich. Companies Generali Deutschland owns include Generali Versicherungen, AachenMünchener, CosmosDirekt and other. The company is fully owned by the Italian group Assicurazioni Generali.

Since 2015, Giovanni Liverani has been CEO of the Generali Deutschland. In May 2015, he declares his new strategy which includes a renaming into Generali Deutschland (former: Generali Deutschland Holding) and a relocation from Cologne to Munich. [3]

Economic Activity

There are numerous insurers and financial services companies working under the umbrella of Generali Deutschland AG, including Generali Versicherungen, AachenMünchener, CosmosDirekt, Central Krankenversicherung, Advocard Rechtsschutzversicherung, Deutsche Bausparkasse Badenia and Dialog. These companies cover the full spectrum of financial services, such as life, health, property and legal expense insurances, construction financing, as well as additional solutions like third-party asset management and real estate brokerage.

The operating result for Generali in Germany during fiscal year 2015 was €792 million (+5% vs. 2014). Total contributions for 2015 amounted to €17.8 billion. The insurance group has 13.5 million customers across Germany. As of 31 December 2015, Generali Deutschland had approximately 13,000 employees. [4]

The Lebensversicherung von 1871 a. G. München is a German life insurance company founded in 1871 and headquartered in Munich. LV 1871 specialises in life, pension and disability insurance. As a mutual insurance association, LV 1871 is exclusively committed to its customers. The company relies on approximately 8,500 independent insurance brokers to advise its customers.

DAB BNP Paribas is a brand of the German branch of the French major bank BNP Paribas with business premises in Munich. The BNP Paribas brand for independent asset managers, fund brokers, investment advisers and institutional clients was founded on 18 January 1994 as the first discount broker in Germany, trading under Direkt Anlage- und Vermögensverwaltungs-GmbH, and started operations in May 1994 as Direkt Anlage Bank GmbH (DAB). As of 1 January 2016, the operating private customer business was transferred to the BNP Paribas S.A. branch Germany. On 12/13 November 2016, the DAB bank's online portal was shut down and all private customers transferred to Consorsbank.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Deutscher Herold</span> German insurance group

Deutscher Herold Versicherungsgruppe was a German insurance group. The company, which was founded in 1922, became part of the Zurich Gruppe Deutschland in 2006, after the Zurich Insurance Group – then known as Zurich Financial Services – had already taken over the majority of the company in 2002. The name was partially retained in the new company because, on the one hand, the life insurance division is managed by Zurich Deutscher Herold Lebensversicherung AG and, on the other, the Zurich Deutscher Herold sales brand is used.

The Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe is a network of public banks that together form the largest financial services group in Germany and in all of Europe. Its name refers to local government-controlled savings banks that are known in German as Sparkasse, plural Sparkassen. Its activity is overwhelmingly located in Germany.
