Sir Geoffrey Charles Hurst is an English former professional footballer. A striker, he became the first player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final, as England recorded a 4–2 victory over West Germany at Wembley in 1966. With the death of Sir Bobby Charlton in October 2023, Hurst became the last living player from the team that won the 1966 final.
The University of Mount Union is a private liberal arts university in Alliance, Ohio, United States. Founded in 1846, the university was affiliated with the Methodist Church until the spring of 2019. In the fall of 2020, Mount Union had an enrollment of 1,958 undergraduate and 220 graduate students.

Larry Kehres is an American college football coach and college athletics administrator. He was the head football coach at Mount Union for 27 seasons from 1986 to 2012. Kehres retired from coaching in May 2013 with a record of 332–24–3 and a winning percentage of .929, the highest in college football history. Kehres also has the most national titles, conference titles (23), and unbeaten regular seasons (21) of any coach in college football history. His Purple Raiders set the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) football record for most consecutive victories with 55, running from 2000 to 2003. He was succeeded as head football coach by his son, Vince. The elder Kehres was also the athletic director at Mount Union from 1985 to 2020. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
The Wisconsin–Whitewater Warhawks are the athletic teams of the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater. Twenty Warhawk athletic teams compete in NCAA Division III. The Warhawks often rank among the top of NCAA Division III schools in the NACDA Director's Cup standings.
Erik Raeburn is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach for Gannon University, a position he has held since 2020. Raeburn served as head football coach Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa from 2000 to 2007, Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana from 2008 to 2015, and Savannah State University in Savannah, Georgia from 2016 to 2018. He is the nephew of former Mount Union football head coach Larry Kehres.
Geoffrey Paul Morris is a former Australian rules footballer who played 220 games and kicked 316 goals for West Adelaide in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) between 1973 and 1986.
Robert Vogt Larsen was an American football coach and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Carroll College—now known as Carroll University— in Waukesha, Wisconsin in 1977 and the University of Chicago from 1980 to 1982, compiling a career college football coaching record of 7–28–1. Larsen was also the athletic director at Carroll from 1977 to 1980 and Chicago from 1980 to 1983. He played college football at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin and coached high school football as a number of schools in the state of Wisconsin.
The Mount Union Purple Raiders football program represents the University of Mount Union in college football at the NCAA Division III level as members of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). Mount Union have played their home games at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance, Ohio since 1913, which makes it the oldest college football stadium in Ohio. The Purple Raiders have claimed 13 NCAA Division III Football Championship and 35 OAC titles and have 12 undefeated seasons.
Martha Ann Maxwell was an American naturalist, artist and taxidermist. She helped found modern taxidermy. Maxwell's pioneering diorama displays are said to have influenced major figures in taxidermy history who entered the field later, such as William Temple Hornaday and Carl Akeley. She was born in Pennsylvania in 1831. Among her many accomplishments, she is credited with being the first woman field naturalist to obtain and prepare her own specimens. She was inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in 1985.
The Wisconsin–Whitewater Warhawks football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The team competes in NCAA Division III and is a member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). Wisconsin-Whitewater's first football team was fielded in 1889. The team plays its home games at the 13,500-seat Perkins Stadium in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Jace Rindahl has served as the head coach for the Warhawks since 2023, taking over for eight-year head coach Kevin Bullis.
Lance Leipold is an American college football coach who is the head football coach at the University of Kansas, a position he has held since 2021. He was the head football coach at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater from 2007 to 2014 and the University at Buffalo from 2015 to 2020. During his tenure at Wisconsin–Whitewater, the team won six NCAA Division III Football Championships: 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2014 and were runners-up in 2008. During his time at Wisconsin-Whitewater, Leipold led the Warhawks to 5 undefeated seasons.
The John Carroll Blue Streaks football program is the intercollegiate American football team for John Carroll University located in the U.S. state of Ohio. They compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division III level and are members of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). The team was established in 1920 and plays its home games at the 5,416 seat Don Shula Stadium. As of the 2016 season, John Carroll has won 11 Conference titles, 4 in their current conference, the OAC. Drew Nystrom serves as the interim head football coach. During the 2022 season, John Carroll celebrated its 100th season of football.
Matthew Allen Campbell is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach at Iowa State University, a position he has held since the 2016 season. Campbell was head football coach at the University of Toledo from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, Campbell had been an assistant at Toledo, Bowling Green, and Mount Union. Campbell grew up in Ohio and briefly attended the University of Pittsburgh before transferring to Mount Union, where he played defensive line.

Vincent G. Kehres is an American football coach and former player. He is the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at University of Toledo, positions he has held since 2020. Kehres served as the head football coach at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio from 2013 to 2019. In seven seasons at the helm of the Mount Union Purple Raiders football program, he compiled a record of 95–6 and led Mount Union to two NCAA Division III Football Championship titles, in 2015 and 2017. Kehres is the son of College Football Hall of Fame inductee Larry Kehres, who preceded him as head football coach at Mount Union.
Kevin Burke is an American college football coach and former quarterback. He played college football for Mount Union where he was a two-time winner of the Gagliardi Trophy and won the NCAA Division III championship.
Jason Tyler Candle is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach at the University of Toledo, a position he had held since the 2016 season. Candle had been an assistant at Toledo since 2009, and at Mount Union before that. He played as a wide receiver at Mount Union and Geneva.
William Geoffrey Collins is an American college football coach and former player. He is currently serving as the defensive coordinator at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to the Tar Heels, he was head coach at Georgia Tech from December 7, 2018, to September 25, 2022. He was previously the head coach at Temple University, and had served in the past as defensive coordinator for the University of Florida and Mississippi State University.
