State University of New York Brockport is a public university in Brockport, New York, United States. It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY).
Jeffrey William Van Gundy is an American basketball coach and former commentator who is currently the top deputy coach for the Los Angeles Clippers. Van Gundy previously served as head coach of the New York Knicks and the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). During his tenure with the Knicks, he led the team to the 1999 NBA Finals which they ultimately fell to the San Antonio Spurs. Van Gundy won an NBA championship in 2024 with the Boston Celtics where he served as a senior consultant in the front office.

Todd Robert Bowles is an American professional football coach and former player who is the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He was previously the head coach of the New York Jets from 2015 to 2018. Bowles has also been the defensive coordinator of the Arizona Cardinals and Buccaneers as well as the secondary coach for the Jets, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, and Philadelphia Eagles. He played eight seasons in the NFL as a safety, primarily with the Washington Redskins, and was a member of the team that won Super Bowl XXII.
Scott Andrew Frost is an American football coach and player who is the current head coach for the UCF Knights. He was the head coach for the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 2018 to 2022, and previously served as UCF's head coach from 2016 to 2017. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Frost played college football as a quarterback for the Stanford Cardinal and the Cornhuskers, the latter of which he led to a shared national championship in 1997. Frost has coached Heisman winner Marcus Mariota and Heisman candidate McKenzie Milton. He played six years in the NFL.
John "Jay" Accorsi Jr. is an American former college football coach. He was the head football coach at Rowan University, an NCAA Division III program in Glassboro, New Jersey. He began coaching at Rowan in 2002, and in his first season he led the Profs to a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) championship, which was their second in a row. He has guided them to seven outright or tied NJAC championships in all. In 2010, Rowan was the co-champion with Montclair State, but due to a tiebreaker they did not qualify for the postseason. In 2013, Rowan received the playoff bid because of their tiebreaker over SUNY Brockport. He retired following the 2023 season.
Don "Wink" Martindale is an American football coach. He is the defensive coordinator for the University of Michigan, a position he has held since 2024. He previously served as the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants and Baltimore Ravens from 2018 to 2023.
Franklin Gene Bissell was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Kansas Wesleyan University from 1952 to 1961 and again from 1963 to 1978, compiling a record of 115–119–7.

The Mercyhurst Lakers men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association hockey team that represents Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania under Head Coach Rick Gotkin. The team is currently a Division I hockey team playing out of the Mercyhurst Ice Center located on the school campus. The Mercyhurst Lakers started out as a club sport at the school, moving up to Division III, followed by Division II, and now plays in Division I in Atlantic Hockey America, formed shortly after the 2023–24 season by the merger of the Lakers' former home, the Atlantic Hockey Association, with College Hockey America. After joining their step up into Division I in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in 1998, the Lakers have won their conference tournament making NCAA tournament appearances in 2001, 2003, and 2005.

He played college basketball for the Brockport Golden Eagles, won a gold medal with Team USA in the 1981 Maccabiah Games in Israel, and played one year of pro basketball in Israel. He served as the head coach for the Colorado College, Cornell University, Chaminade University of Honolulu and Binghamton University men's basketball teams.

The Golden Eagles are coached by Jason Mangone. Brockport participates yearly in the Courage Bowl.

Jason Mangone is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach for SUNY Brockport, a position he has held since 2013. Mangone played college football as a quarterback, first at Alfred University in Alfred, New York, before transferring to Brockport. He became an assistant coach at Brockport in 1999 and was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2004.
