Geoffroy Bony (born 24 December 2004) is a Welsh footballer who plays as a forward for EFL League Two club Newport County. [1]

Career

Bony spent his early career with the youth teams of Swansea City and Nice. [2] On 22 November 2024 he joined EFL League Two club Newport County on a contract until the end of the 2024-25 season. [3] [4] [5] Bony made his English Football League debut for Newport the following day on 23 November 2024 in the 0–0 draw against Notts County. [6] [7]

Personal life

Bony is the son of former Ivory Coast international Wilfried Bony. His younger brother Orphee Bony is a development squad player with Newport County. [3]

For this season the club kit was redesigned to match that worn during the 1938–39 Third Division South championship-winning season. County reached the League Two play-off final but narrowly missed out on promotion. They also reached the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time since the 1948–49 season, losing to eventual winners Manchester City.
