Geofrey Hildrew, ACE, [1] BFE, [2] is an American film and television editor [3] [4] and director. [5] Noteworthy credits include the Netflix limited series Painkiller, as well as editing and directing [6] [7] [8] all seven seasons of ABC's fantasy drama, Once Upon a Time. He served as editor and executive producer for the feature film Things Never Said, [9] collaborating with writer/director Charles Murray. Additionally, he edited the thrillers Careful What You Wish For [10] and, his second collaboration with Charles Murray, The Devil You Know. [11]
Geofrey was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania and grew up in Hershey, Pennsylvania. [12] He holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Columbia University [13] and a Master's degree in Film and TV Production from the University of Southern California [14]
At present, Geofrey resides in Los Angeles, where he continues to make significant contributions to the world of film and television. [15] [16]

Alan Smithee is an official pseudonym used by film directors who wish to disown a project. Coined in 1968 and used until it was formally discontinued in 2000, it was the sole pseudonym used by members of the Directors Guild of America (DGA) when directors, dissatisfied with the final product, proved to the satisfaction of a guild panel that they had not been able to exercise creative control over a film. The director was also required by guild rules not to discuss the circumstances leading to the movie or even to acknowledge being the project's director.
