George Brouwer was the Ombudsman for the state Victoria for a decade [1] He was appointed to the position in 2004. His term expired in March 2014, and he was succeeded by Deborah Glass. Concurrently with work as Ombudsman, Brouwer was also head of Victoria's Office of Police Integrity. [2]

At State level, Mr Brouwer has worked as Chief Executive in the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet under John Cain and Joan Kirner, and in the Department of Business and Employment under Jeff Kennett.

Clifford Inch Menhennitt was an Australian jurist. He served as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria from 1966 to 1979. While largely unknown today, Menhennitt was responsible for delivering the landmark 1969 Menhennitt ruling, which was the first legal precedent with regard to abortion law in Australia.

The Melbourne Custody Centre is the main reception facility in Melbourne, Australia for people who have been arrested by police. The centre is located underneath the Melbourne Magistrates' Court and, utilised during the day to hold prisoners who will be attending hearings at the Magistrates, County or Supreme Courts. Simon James Overland is the former Chief Executive Officer at the City of Whittlesea and a former Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police in Australia. On 2 March 2009 he was named by the Premier, John Brumby, as Victoria Police Chief Commissioner. He resigned from this position on 16 June 2011 after intense public pressure from critics who questioned his performance. In July 2011, he was appointed the chair of the Board of Management of the Tasmania University Union and was responsible for overseeing the direction of the student union.
