Construcciones Aeronáuticas SA (CASA) was a Spanish aircraft manufacturer that was founded in 1923 and began manufacturing aircraft the following year. In 1999 it became a subsidiary of the EADS under the name EADS CASA and in 2009 was absorbed into Airbus Military. CASA is noted for designing and producing military transport aircraft such as the CASA C-212 Aviocar, the CASA CN-235, the CASA C-295 and the CASA C-101 trainer/ground attack aircraft.

Eads Bridge is a combined road and railway bridge over the Mississippi River connecting the cities of St. Louis, Missouri and East St. Louis, Illinois. It is located on the St. Louis riverfront between Laclede's Landing, to the north, and the grounds of the Gateway Arch, to the south. The bridge is named for its designer and builder, James Buchanan Eads. Work on the bridge began in 1867, and it was completed in 1874. Eads Bridge was the first bridge across the Mississippi south of the Missouri River. Earlier bridges were located north of the Missouri, where the Mississippi is smaller. None of the earlier bridges survive, which means that Eads Bridge is also the oldest bridge on the river.

Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development Division, commonly abbreviated as Nintendo EAD and formerly known as Nintendo Research & Development No.4 Department, was the largest software development division within the Japanese video game company Nintendo. It was preceded by the Creative Department, a team of designers with backgrounds in art responsible for many different tasks, to which Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka originally belonged. Both served as managers of the EARD studios and were credited in every game developed by the division, with varying degrees of involvement. Nintendo EAD was best known for its work on games in the Donkey Kong, Mario, The Legend of Zelda, F-Zero, Star Fox, Animal Crossing, Pikmin and Wii series.
Rudolph II, a member of the Elder House of Welf, was King of Burgundy from 912 until his death. He initially succeeded in Upper Burgundy and also ruled as King of Italy from 922 to 926. In 933 Rudolph acquired the Kingdom of Lower Burgundy (Provence) from King Hugh of Italy in exchange for the waiver of his claims to the Italian crown, thereby establishing the united Kingdom of Burgundy.

Port Eads is a populated place at the southern tip of the Mississippi River, also known as South Pass, in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, United States. The Mississippi River in the 100-mile-plus stretch between the Port of New Orleans and the Gulf of Mexico frequently suffered from silting up of its outlets, stranding ships, or making parts of the river unnavigable for a period of time. The port was renamed in honor of James Buchanan Eads whose design for the south pass of the Mississippi River solved this problem. It was designated as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers in 1982.

George Byron Gordon (1870–1927) was a Canadian-American archaeologist, who graduated from Harvard University in 1894. While studying at Harvard, he participated in excavations at Copan in Honduras under the direction of John G. Owens in 1891. Following Owens’ death in the field, Gordon took command of the Copan expeditions from 1894 to 1895 and in 1900–1901. After his time in Honduras, George Byron Gordon was hired by the University of Pennsylvania where he led two expeditions to Alaska in 1905 and 1907. He spent the remainder of his twenty-four year employment at the University of Pennsylvania collecting antiquities for the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology’s North American collections, and he remains one of the museum’s largest contributors of North American artifacts.

James Wade Gilley is an American academic. He served as the president of University of Tennessee system from 1999 to 2001. Gilley also was president of Marshall University from 1991 to 1999. He attended Virginia Tech where he earned B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in engineering. Gilley also taught at Virginia Tech, Bluefield State College, George Mason University, and Marshall University. From 1977 to 1982, he served as Virginia Secretary of Education.

Richard Clough Anderson Sr. was an American lawyer, politician, and surveyor from Virginia. He was the principal surveyor of the Virginia Military District from 1783 until 1819. Anderson Township is named after him, as is Clough Creek. He was chosen to be a captain in the Hanover County, Virginia militia regulars on January 29, 1776. He crossed the Delaware River with George Washington. His first wife was Elizabeth Clark, sister of George Rogers Clark and William Clark. His second wife was Sarah Marshall (1779–1854), a cousin of John Marshall, the fourth Chief Justice of the United States. He is the father of Richard Clough Anderson Jr., Charles Anderson, William Marshall Anderson, and Robert Anderson. He is the great grandfather of Larz Anderson, an American diplomat involved in foreign affairs, who had the Larz Anderson House built for him and his wife Isabel Weld Perkins, which was bequeathed to the Society of Cincinnati as their international headquarters. He is the father-in-law of Allen Latham who helped him with surveying and administered his estate. He was a charter member of the Society of Cincinnati. He was aide-de-camp to Lafayette at the Battle of Yorktown.
