George Galbraith (born December 16, 1955) is a Canadian-born Danish former professional ice hockey goaltender who was nicknamed King George by Danish media and fans. [2] [3] Galbraith played his entire 19-year career for Vojens IK (1977-2001), [1] was named the Danish League Player of the Year in 1980, [4] and holds the record as the oldest player to play in the Danish premiere league at age 46. [3] Galbraith's dominance in goal is credited with leading Vojens to their first Danish championship in 1979. [5] He played at the World Championships with Denmark men's national ice hockey team in 1986 and 1994. In 2017, Galbraith was inducted into the Danish Hockey Hall of Fame. [6] [2]

Galbraith was raised in Petawawa, Ontario and attended Clarkson University on a hockey scholarship from 1972 to 1976. [7] His mother is of Native American descent. [7] In 1982, he became a Danish citizen. [7] He is the father of ice hockey player Patrick Galbraith.

Kimmo Samuel Timonen is a Finnish former professional ice hockey defenseman who played 16 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Nashville Predators, Philadelphia Flyers, and Chicago Blackhawks. Timonen had played in over 1,100 NHL games before retiring. During his career, Timonen had also featured in three IIHF World Junior Championships, seven IIHF World Championships, two World Cups and five Olympic tournaments. He won the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2015 in his final career game.

The Danish national men's ice hockey team is the national ice hockey team for Denmark. The team is controlled by Danmarks Ishockey Union. It was founded in 1949, and as of 2022, the Danish team was ranked 10th in the IIHF World Rankings. Denmark currently has 4,255 players. Their coach is Swedish Mikael Gath. Denmark once held the record for the largest loss when they were defeated by Canada in 1949, 47–0, only being surpassed by New Zealand who were defeated by Australia 58–0 in 1987.

SønderjyskE Ishockey is a professional ice hockey team playing in the top Danish ice hockey league Metal Ligaen. The team is part of SønderjyskE which is a sports umbrella with football, handball and ice hockey teams. The team plays home games in Vojens, a small town in the southernmost part of Jutland. SønderjyskE is the only team in Denmark which home arena has a narrow sized rink, whereas all other rinks in the country are standard IIHF sized rinks. Most of the club's foreign players are also originating from North America.

Marcel Comeau is a Canadian ice hockey scout, and former player, coach, and National Hockey League team executive. Patrick Francheterre is a French retired ice hockey player, coach, manager and international administrator. His playing career included time with CPM Croix and Dogues de Bordeaux as a player-coach, and with the France men's national ice hockey team at the Ice Hockey World Championships and the 1968 Winter Olympics. After retiring from playing, he served as the head coach of the national team, and two terms as its general manager. He later became a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation council and was honored with the Paul Loicq Award in 2017 for contributions to international ice hockey.

Zoltán Kovács is a Hungarian ice hockey coach and administrator. He joined the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation as a secretary in 1994, then served as its general secretary from 1998 to 2017, and has served as its vice-president since 2017. He played for the Hungary men's national junior ice hockey team in 1980, and was its manager in 2003 when the team earned promotion to Division I of the IIHF World U20 Championship. He played professionally for Ferencvárosi TC, and sat on several International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) committees. The IIHF named Kovács as the 2020 Paul Loicq Award recipient, for his contributions to the IIHF and international hockey.

Matilda Nilsson is a Finnish ice hockey player, currently playing in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) with Frölunda HC Dam. As a member of the Finnish national ice hockey team, she won a bronze medal at the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship.

Biryusa Krasnoyarsk are a Russian ice hockey team in the Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL). They play in Krasnoyarsk, the capital of Krasnoyarsk Krai in Siberia, at the Platinum Arena Krasnoyarsk and use Fakel Ice Palace as a secondary arena. The team was founded in 1987 as Lokomotiv Krasnoyarsk and was called Lokomotiv-Energiya Krasnoyarsk during 2008 to 2012.
