The Smiths were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. Their line-up comprised singer Morrissey, guitarist Johnny Marr, bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce. They are regarded as one of the most important acts to emerge from the British independent music scene of the 1980s.
Flemington is a borough in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. It is the county seat of Hunterdon County. Andrew William Stevenson Marr is a British journalist and presenter for radio and television. Beginning his career as a political commentator, he subsequently edited The Independent newspaper (1996–1998) and was political editor of BBC News (2000–2005). He began hosting a political programme—Sunday AM, later called The Andrew Marr Show—on Sunday mornings on BBC One from September 2005 until he left the BBC in December 2021. In 2002, Marr took over as host of BBC Radio 4's long-running Start the Week Monday morning discussion programme. On Monday 7 March 2022, Marr started his first show called “Tonight With Andrew Marr” on LBC which will run to Mondays to Thursdays from 6pm-7pm weeknights.

Homebush West is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Homebush West is located 13 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Municipality of Strathfield, with a small unpopulated strip in the northwest in Cumberland Council. The suburb is commonly referred to as Flemington, even in official contexts. This was the old name of the suburb before the establishment of Sydney Markets in 1975. Subsequently, "Flemington" was confined to the area occupied by the markets, whereas the residential part of the suburb was renamed "Homebush West", after the suburb of Homebush immediately to the east. Both the railway station and various organisations and businesses in the suburb still carry the name "Flemington". Homebush Bay was formerly a separate suburbs to the north.

John Edward Marr FGS FRS was a British geologist. After studying at Lancaster Royal Grammar School, he matriculated to St John's College, Cambridge, graduating with First Class Honours in 1878. Following undergraduate work in the Lake District, he travelled to Bohemia to investigate the fossil collection of Joachim Barrande, where his work won him the Sedgwick Prize in 1882. In 1886, Marr became lecturer at the University of Cambridge Department of Geology, a position he held for 32 years until he succeeded Thomas McKenny Hughes as Woodwardian Professor of Geology in 1917.
