George W. Cross (born September 30, 1872) was an American politician from Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, who served in the Missouri House of Representatives. He married Vina B. Phelan of Memphis, Tennessee, in the city of Osceola, Arkansas. He worked as a manufacturer [1] and also for the Cape Girardeau Northern Railway. [2]

Battle of Cape Girardeau

The Battle of Cape Girardeau was a military demonstration of the American Civil War, occurring on April 26, 1863 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The conflict was part of the pursuit of US Brigadier General John McNeil through Southeast Missouri by Confederate Brigadier General John S. Marmaduke. Though the conflict to this day is known as a battle, it was a relatively small engagement whose primary importance was as the turning point that brought General Marmaduke's second Missouri raid to an end.

Albert M. Spradling Jr. was an American politician from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, who served in the Missouri Senate. He served as city attorney of Cape Girardeau from 1948 until 1952 when he was elected to the state senate. Spradling was educated in the Cape Girardeau public schools and at the local Southeast Missouri State College and at the University of Missouri. Kage School United States historic place

Kage School is a former one-room schoolhouse in the city limits of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places (NRIS#05001090). While it was in operation it was a part of School District No. 52, then located northwest of the City of Cape Girardeau in unincorporated Cape Girardeau County. The school served eight grade levels.
