The German Developer Innovation Prize (German : Deutscher Entwicklerpreis) is a prize for video game development studios from German speaking countries, organized by Aruba Events GmbH.

Description

The German Developer Innovation Prize was first awarded on 12 November 2004 in Essen. Between 2005 and 2010 the awards ceremony was held in the historic Lichtburg cinema in Essen, and then between 2011 and 2013 it was held in Düsseldorf. Since 2014 it has been held in Cologne [1] with an extended programme, including a Game Music Jam and a game developers conference supported by the government of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Founded by the Yerli brothers in Coburg in 1999 and moved to Frankfurt in 2006, Crytek also operates further studios in Kyiv, Ukraine and Istanbul, Turkey. CryEngine

CryEngine is a game engine designed by the German game developer Crytek. It has been used in all of their titles with the initial version being used in Far Cry, and continues to be updated to support new consoles and hardware for their games. It has also been used for many third-party games under Crytek's licensing scheme, including Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 and SNOW. Warhorse Studios uses a modified version of the engine for their medieval RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Ubisoft maintains an in-house, heavily modified version of CryEngine from the original Far Cry called the Dunia Engine, which is used in their later iterations of the Far Cry series.

The Creative Assembly Limited is a British video game developer based in Horsham, founded in November 1987 by Tim Ansell. In its early years, the company worked on porting games to MS-DOS from Amiga and ZX Spectrum platforms, later working with Electronic Arts to produce a variety of games under the EA Sports brand. In 1999, the company had sufficient resources to attempt a new and original project, proceeding to develop the strategy computer game Shogun: Total War which was a critical and commercial hit, and is regarded as a benchmark strategy game. Subsequent titles in the Total War series built on the success of Shogun: Total War, increasing the company's critical and commercial success.

<i>The Whispered World</i>

The Whispered World is a point-and-click adventure game for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. It is designed by Marco Hüllen, developed by Daedalic Entertainment, and published by Deep Silver in Europe and by Viva Media in the United States. The four-act game takes place in a fantasy world and features a melancholy twelve-year-old clown as its hero. The graphics are 2D and are all hand-drawn and animated.

It is based on the leading German pen and paper role-playing game The Dark Eye. Due to the successful reception of the game, Daedalic Entertainment released a sequel, Blackguards 2.

Sproing Interactive Media GmbH was an Austrian video game developer. It was founded in 2001 by Harald Riegler and Gerhard Seiler. Riegler and Seiler have owned and managed the company up to the present. The company has its headquarters in Vienna, Austria.

Mimimi Games GmbH is a German video game developer based in Munich. SXSW Gaming Awards

The SXSW Gaming Awards are awards given to video games during the annual South by Southwest Festival (SXSW), held in Austin, Texas typically in March of that year. The Awards are part of the SXSW Gaming Expo which is part of the SXSW Interactive branch of the festival.

AirConsole

AirConsole is a cloud-based video game console developed by Zurich-based startup N-Dream. It created the concept in January 2015, with around $1.4 million in initial capital. Soon after, N-Dream conducted a game development competition, where developers were encouraged to create their own game on the AirConsole platform.

House of Tales Entertainment GmbH, trading as House of Tales, was a German video game developer based in Bremen. The company was known for its point-and-click adventure games.

<i>Desperados III</i>

Desperados III is a real-time tactics video game developed by Mimimi Games and published by THQ Nordic. The first installment in the Desperados series since the 2007 spin-off title Helldorado, it was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, MacOS, Linux.
