Gerry Nardello is an American Republican Party politician who represented the 8th Legislative district in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2011 to 2012.
Nardello had served for 16 years on the Mount Laurel township council and was the township's first woman to serve as mayor. [1]
On August 11,2011,Pat Delany resigned from his seat in the General Assembly seat in the 8th district,after his wife sent an offensive letter to opposing candidate Carl Lewis,who was planning on running for a seat in the Assembly. [2] Burlington County Republicans selected Nardello to serve the remainder of Delany's term and also selected Christopher J. Brown to be the Republican candidate in the 2011 New Jersey General Assembly election. [3] She was sworn into office on November 21,2011. [1]

Dawn Marie Addiego is an American politician who represented the New Jersey's 8th legislative district in the New Jersey Senate from 2010 to 2022. A member of the Democratic Party,she previously served in the General Assembly from January 8,2008 to November 22,2010 as a Republican. On November 15,2010,after Phil Haines was confirmed to serve on the New Jersey Superior Court for Burlington County,that county's Republican committee nominated and appointed Addiego to fill Haines's vacant seat until the June 2011 primary and the November 2011 general election.

Ryan E. Peters is an American Republican Party politician and lawyer who represented the 8th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2018 to 2022. He replaced Maria Rodriguez-Gregg,who did not run for re-election to the Assembly. Peters had previously served on the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders and served active duty as a Navy SEAL before running for office. Peters currently serves reserve duty as a SEAL.

He replaced Dave Rible,who left office to serve as Director of the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Thomson had previously served as mayor of Wall Township. He has served since 2022 as the Minority Conference Leader in the General Assembly.
The 2017 New Jersey General Assembly elections were held on November 7,2017,to elect members to all 80 seats of the New Jersey General Assembly. Prior to the elections,Democrats held a 52–28 majority in the lower house. Overall,the Democrats increased their majority by 2 to a super-majority at 54–26,due to holding all their seats as well as picking up open seats in District 2 and District 16. This tied Democrats for their largest majority since 1979.
The 1981 New Jersey State Senate elections were held on November 3. The New Jersey legislature reapportioned its state legislative districts in advance of the 1981 election. The new districts resulted in many senators running for re-election in newly re-numbered districts. The election coincided with a tightly contested gubernatorial election between Thomas Kean and James Florio. Republicans gained five seats,narrowing the Democratic majority to 22-18.
